Really nice demos, thanks for taking the time to post those. I really like how the Phasor sounds, it's much warmer & expressive than my EHX Small Stone. I like it especially when combined with the Mu Tron III, (is that a little improvisation on Parliament's Dr. Funkenstein riff btw?). Thanks for giving me GAS for the Phasor II reissue (and just when I thought my GAS had finally come to an end! )

Yes it is Dr.Funkenstein. But the Mu-Tron III clips are just that, with no Phasor II on it.

So I got my Octave Divider back from repair after it blew a fuse last month. Gotta say Mike and Todd at Mu-FX are great people to deal with, very helpful. Love my Mu-Tron' s!

Thanks FilterFunk! I was lucky enough to get a boxed "as new" (and serviced) one from Soundgas in the UK, and then another immaculate one came up on eBay for under half the price I'd paid for my first one. I couldn't turn it down. Now I've got these I am DONE with my filter purchases these days though (at least for the time being!).

I have a custom Mini Mu on the way from VFE too...

I had a Mini Mu - it couldn't beat my vintage Multivox Big Jam Spit Wah, which is the only reason I sold it, but it is a truly great envelope filter. The Gain is actual gain, not just sensitivity, but there's a volume control to even things out.

How are you having yours customized?

They've discontinued them from the main line-up, but you can still order a custom one by going through their wizard thing. I chose a sparkly galactic purple with pink LED, can't remember which knobs, electronics all stock. The VFE guy is returning to teaching soon and will only be offering a small number of pedals so now might be the last chance to get one!

It's ok. I like it more in a fixed wah position than as a wah sweep. It's a like Mutron III with a changeable frequency cutoff. But it's not the greatest pedal Mike ever made.

Thanks Mosfed for your honest feedback. I was curious as to how it sounded on bass, the guitar demos I saw a on YouTube sounded great.

I think many pedals are "more suited for guitar" but that doesn't mean they won't be sweet on bass.

This has a bunch of killer circuits like the Dan Armstrong orange squeezer, Alembic stratoblaster and a rat circuit that are all killer on bass so my hopes are high.

Plus you know...collection and all...

I've been looking at the squeezer and blaster sections and I could really make use of a good clean boost and compression, but I'm less sure about how the slacker section might sound on bass. I know it's based on a Pro Co Rat, and I like how the demos sound on guitar, but I have little experience with Rat's and how they sound on bass. Does the Slacker section keep bottom end, and is it able to cut through the mix? Do the three effects combine well together?

On another matter, keeping my eyes peeled for more news on the forthcoming Micro-Tron III. I really don't need any more filters, but intrigued whether they can nail all the vintage Mu-Tron III sounds in a mini 9v DC enclosure. No other manufacturers' quite managed to do that yet IMHO.

So yeah I really dig the Boostron.

I admittedly think I will use it more for the Squeezer and Blaster side but the RAT sounds great.

The Squeezer is the quietest and best on bass version of Dan Armstrong's unit that I have ever heard. By adding the extra juice control you can go all the way from subtle compression to the super heavy pumping and juicing Juicer tone.

The Blaster is a preamp that is near and dear to my heart. I have them installed in a few guitars and in 1 bass. It's a very light dirty boost that sounds amazing all around. Really the heart of the early Alembic sound.

The slacker is cool and doesn't lose any bottom end. I could see using it a whole bunch it I made a little mini board with just a few pedals. But I don't see using it much in a larger board. It's a great example of a RAT but it isn't a Volt Thrower.

Can't wait for the 9v Mutron.

Cheers Mosfed, knew I could rely on you for some great info. The Boostron's really piqued my curiosity. Good to hear the slacker part is usuable too and doesn't lose bottom end. Have you tried combining it with the Tru Tron and Octave Divider at all? I'm thinking of putting together a little Mu-Fx board.
