Judging from the sound clip in post #349, it's definitely up sweep. Unless there's a different definition that I'm not aware of. The decay of the sweep is downward, of course.

I don't recall saying that. It isn't strictly an up or down, it's kinda both. It starts low, goes high, and comes back down like a wah, hence the name. The attack and release can be very fast so maybe different people are hearing different things. If it was strictly a down sweep it would make an Oww sound, and JoshOw doesn't really have a nice ring to it
All filters are a bit of both, what comes up must come down and all that! Where the filter starts and which direction it first goes in is what decides it.

I've had a few squeezers over the years (original Dan Armstrong weird plug one, AnalogMike versions, etc) as it was one of my favorite guitar circuits. The Boostron is easily my favorite of the bunch.
Well...I pre-ordered the Mu-FX Micro-Tron III exactly 3 months ago...Mu-FX's estimate for release was 4-6 weeks.
This is my first time pre-ordering anything. I'm not holding them to 4-6 weeks, but 3 months without updates seems too long to me. Should I just be patient, or move on to something else?

I thought he only had sign ups for an intent to purchase, did you actually send funds?
I just received my Phasor 2x after a pretty long wait. I had been super anxious but Mike is not a young guy and runs a very small operation. They had problems with their production and this probably threw the Mini Tron release back. I should also note that after pre-orders had been already paid he added more features and normally this most likely would've raised the price. This thing sounds great btw and built like a tank. I love my Tru-Tron and have no problem waiting for him to release the Mini. I'd rather he get it right and not rush it.
No one preordered the Microtron. It was just an intent to buy. You sure you aren't talking about the Phasor?
You guys are right; it was an "intent to buy" as opposed to an actual pre-order (as you can tell, I'm new to this stuff!).
I guess I'm just really looking forward to getting the Micro-Tron III. After once owning the original Mu-Tron III (which lives up to the hype and then some!), and currently owning the EHX Q-Balls and Bi-Filter, I can wait for the next Beigel filter.
Eeny, Meeny, Micro-Tron or Josh-Wah... Have been hoping Beigel will replace my Proton, but if it's more than a couple months out, maybe I change course...

As much as I like the down sweep on envelope filters, I never actually use it, so the JoshWah is definitely in play. Then again, I've never gone wrong with a Mike Beigel-engineered filter.

The dilemma I have is whether I really need the Micro-tron. With the Mu-Tron III and 3x they give me everything I need. I'm almost willing the Micro-tron to sound or do something a bit different than the others! (in a good way of course).
Between my Q-Balls, Multivox Spit Wah and Bi-Filter, and the fact that I'm a home studio guy, so pedal size and power requirements are not an issue for me, I don't need the Micro-Tron III. It's just SO intriguing, and as you said, it might "do something a bit different than the others" - different enough to be worth it.
I'm gonna buy two.
Just because. Really I want to try and rehouse one. The current spacing of the knobs and footswitches is just dumb. Personally I hate 2 footswitches on a 125B. Just too easy to hit both when playing live.

I don't mind it on the CB Wombtone because they are soft touch and the 2nd switch is for tap tempo and hitting it once has no effect. You can stomp on both to turn off or on.
