Four months and counting since the "Intent To Buy" offer and the 4-to-6 weeks release estimate for the Mu-FX Micro-Tron III.
I'd at least like to hear an update from Mu-FX. I e-mailed them after three months, but got no response. Maybe I'll try again.

I hear you @FilterFunk, it's all very quiet on the Micro Tron III front. I noticed the new Phasor came out with little in the way of a fanfare, but I would have expected to hear a bit more about the latest version of Musitronics most famous pedal by now.
I love the Boostron - but I do wish the second foot switch was assignable to the boost. That would add a cool functionality. I like the Rat side but I've heard better.
UPDATE ON THE MICRO-TRON III!
I e-mailed Mu-FX today, and got a same-day response from Mike Beigel himself. Here's the text of the reply:
Hello Kenny,
First of all, thanks for buying the EHX products I designed some years ago. Both of these products were designed to be quantitative advancements in envelope-filter product types. However, I didn't have control of the production process and in that way I can't speak for the quality of actual products manufactured.
As to the MicroTron, I had also expected this product to be delivered by March or April. Now that June is almost over, you can imagine what the delay has "done for" my relatively-new company. We are expecting to announce order-taking and production before the end of this month. However certain aspects of this production are out of my control, and I can only say we "are expecting" based on promises from our manufacturer, already 4 or 5 months late.
Please excuse this situation which has resulted in "egg on my face" as well as very serious economic consequences for Mu-FX.
I appreciate the patience and (I hate to use the word 'loyalty' these days) of long-time Musitronics Mu-Tron customers and devotees.

Hmmm, I thought this comment sounded a bit ominous. With only the Boostron and Phasor 2x out on the marketplace at the moment in limited supply, I can't see how Mu-fx are bringing in the cash flow. It's a tough marketplace for boutique pedal builders as it is, especially so for those with price points positioned at the higher end of the market. Hope things work out for them.

It's a tough industry and I think especially tough at that stage of growth of Mu-fx. They appear to be caught in between being a teeny boutique manufacturer and trying to be a big company.

I noticed Boostron's are on sale too at $176.94. That's a pretty good deal for a great three-in-one pedal. I'm getting a lot of use out of mine, and it pairs really well with the Mu Tron and Octave Divider.

Well...captain trips was a nickname Steven King used for the super flu plague in his book The Stand, so there's that....

After Googling "Captain Trips," I found out that Jerry Garcia was known by that name. Jerry was one of the Mu-Tron III's most famous users. His birthday (birthdays are sometimes referred to as "another trip around the sun") was August 1.
Could August 1 be the release date? If so,

Looks like the first run is limited to 250 units. Honestly, I'm still a bit torn on this one, I'd like to hear sound clips on bass and see how it compares to the Mu Tron III or Tru Tron 3x.

I'm getting one, sound unheard. I've waited this long, and this is the first time I've gotten in on the ground floor, so to speak. If it doesn't quite hit the spot for me (and the bar will be set VERY high for this one), I'll just hold on to it for a while and let the resale price go up, then flip it. Okay...enough with the uncertainty and pessimism...the Micro-Tron III will be GREAT!!!
I am, still on the fence about the Micro Tron, but I probably should just get one.
