Please remember I'm not selling these amps. I bought one (one and a half). I was asked to inform Talkbass subscribers about them by a Talkbass subscriber.
Fact is - I've never heard better sound. Whether I play it at a low growl that shakes the windows, mid-range, or high (which I hate) - it's amazing. I spoke with George for several weeks and then drove 5 hours to see it. Sat on his doorstep and bought the first ones off the line. Extremely glad I did.

Easy - by having some sort of deal with the trademark holder. Could be a licensing fee, or any other sort of interesting contractual arrangement.

George claims that his agreement predates GC's deal and that when GC got the rights his agreement was grandfathered in.

I haven't seen the actual paperwork, though.

No silk thread on these. Not sure if tie wraps were on the market back then. But anyway, standard white tie wraps are used on these new ones. A lot of care goes into assembly. The I/O board (rear) spans the distance between the two outermost jacks. Two separate boards, side by side, handle the controls in front. All boards are very sparsely laid out and for that reason appear easy to work on, if ever necessary. Board interconnects are computer-grade, consisting of bundled discrete wires, as opposed to less-durable ribbon cable.

Any chance any of this is within driving distance of central Ohio? (Including the guy who makes them?) I'd love to be that skeptic who sees it in person and I have spring break coming up. Just sayin'.

I drove 5 hours from Toronto to Greenville, PA for this amp. It's around the corner from you. But there's a lineup for these things. Call George if you're serious and he'll give you a delivery time. (724) 589-5440.

The sound will knock your socks off. Virtually any tone/sound you want.
The amp is encased in the bottom of the 361. Nothing to see there. Perhaps when I have time I'll take the upper cover off & photograph the horn. It's really cool. Great sound.

My Rig in the 80s included a 70s Acoustic 301 1x18 folded horn cabinet. I ran it with a Peavey head and a 1x15 cabinet. The whole thing was 7 feet tall and kicked butt.

I would think there would be a market for the 301 cabinet.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nick for taking the time to give out a little info on his new rig. I was reported to the mods (the reason the thread was closed) for being a "shill" for acoustic usa. Let me state for the record that a. I do not own any acoustic usa products b. I have no intention of owning any acoustic usa product (I am an Ampeg guy) c. I have never offered ANY financial support to George Grexa d. I hold no stock in "acoustic usa" and do NOT intend to.

I have talked to Geoge on a couple of occasions concerning his vision for his venture. I was offered an endorsement deal which I turned down because I simply could not wait any longer for the product roll out. I chose to go with the Ampeg Heritage line and am happy with my decision. I receive NO compensation of any kind, either monetary or in consideration thereof from either George Grexa (GPG Co) or acoustic usa.

I started this thread simply to let you, the bass players on this forum know that the line was up and running - and for no other reason. I am not advocating that anyone here purchase any of the acoustic usa products. The purpose of the thread again, was for information. Frankly, I couldn't care less what the hell products any of you buy, means nothing to me.

Now, on to George. I fully understand the skepticism concerning the product line. I have repeatedly stated that in my opinion he went about this in the most ridiculous way imaginable. However, it's HIS business model and not mine. Hell, you can't blame anyone for being skeptical - myself included. "3 months" has been an eternity.

I sincerely hope that this clarifies (even those of you who live in Hillcrest) my personal involvement in this matter. Again, thanks Nick for taking the time and trouble to "show off" your new rig.
