I'm guessing the zoom b2.1u has the lower frequency, but I'm not quite sure about that. I have recently recorded sound samples of the digitech bp355 and I will be recording more sound samples of it real soon. so I'll let you be the judge by checking out the sound samples that I've recorded. here's the link.

This small little processor seems a little to good to be true! Small cheap with XLR and sounds good?? I am really leaning towards wanting one of these things, I would love to have one so I do not have to lug my pedal board around everywhere..Just when I thought I was safe from GAS...

Thank you Crystalman85 you may have just saved me $200+ ....your playing is great but the Digitech BP355 sound very bad to me....i was ready to sell my Line6 Bass PODxt Live simply because it lacks XLR outs and Whammy features but now im sure it sounds better than than the BP355 .....especially when your soundclip offerings convieniantly showcase just how much better Line6 or Korg sounds.....while the Zoom may also be better it doesnt look very attractive either....

anyway thanks alot man guess im back to earching for a reasonably priced Line6 POD X3 + Digitech Bass Whammy......

Thank you for making the time to record and upload these sound clips. Both units sound like they'd be worth auditioning with one's own bass and some familiar 'phones.

Can both units do a straight up SVT/8x10 tone? If so then I'd expect that to be the real contest for many players.

Thanks for the comments guys. sorry I haven't replied sooner, I've had a busy weekend. anyways, I plan to record more sound samples. I will record sound samples of the wah and octaver effects that brentsimons requested and the whammy effect that chowowbot requested. also I will sound samples of patches that I've came up it as well as other patches. thanks once again for the comments and I will record new sound samples of the digitech bp355.

it can do an svt/8x10 sound. it depends on what kind of svt sound you're looking for. many multi-effects processors has their own take on of an svt sound. for instance, the digitech bp355 can do a smooth sounding svt sound. it can also do a smooth and gritty svt sound if you turn up the amp gain level. the zoom b2.1u can do a throaty and gritty sound. and the rock amp model on the line 6 bass floor pod(which is the floor pedal version of the line 6 low-down amplifiers) can do a big beefy svt sound. if your definition of a straight up svt/8x10 tone is a big beefy sound, you might wanna rely on the line 6 bass floor pod or the line 6 pod x3.

Anytime, dude. I dig the digitech bp355. it's pretty much what I like in a multi-effects processor. smooth and heavy distortion channels, smooth modulation effects that has plenty of lush, and amp models that sounds pretty cool for recording. I wish the distortion channels has a mix control. that would of been a nice feature. but that's okay. an effects loop or a blender pedal can fix that. I do plan on purchasing a boss ls-2 to go with the digitech bp355.

That wasn't a little mouth for war by Pantera on that Distortion and Chorus was it? Sounded really awesome, I really dig the Wah effect you were doing too. Great clips. :)

Some distortion channels on the digitech bp355 has plenty of lows, other distortion channels not really. and yes I have tried EQing some bass back on one the distortion channels and it did help out a little. I haven't test it out with my rig yet, but if I do, I'll let you know how it sounds. I kinda wish that the distortion channels did have mix control. that would of been a nice feature, but that's okay. an effects loop or a blender pedal can easily fix that.
