The new Digitech BP355.

Triggams, I'd suggest starting a new thread or sifting through some older ones to find what you're after- people will be likely to respond the the subject of this thread, the BP335- I'm not sure how close it comes to your ideal setup. good luck w/your search, and your English is not bad at all. :)

Thanks bassteban, i'm thinking of the BP355 and i'm looking for answers on my ideal sounds. If another user have the same things in mind if he will be suggests a solution.

But i will put the question and on another thread or a new one.You have right.

I have it 2-3 days now and first impession is disappointed....Weak looper and FX.I was looking about specific sounds and the only acceptable is the solo sound withe delay-reverb.My other needs are problematic.

I will give it another try and test it on lives-rehearshals to see the full usage..

for that money is cool machine.

The whammy is cool sounding thing.Delays, reverbs, compressors does the good work.Wah is cool, autowah isn't cool, octaver has glitchy sound indeed.Fretless is for fun on home for me.Hmmm that's all.

Dist.,chorus,yaya-mama-dada for me is useless on bass. Also amps-cabinets and stuff is always off.

On live is cool, clear sound, without changing the signal and dynamics.

Yea, I was thinking of picking up a used one (see they're selling for around 115 now which is reasonable for multi). Anyone have a review on how good the whammy is? From what i read the RP seems to be more popular with the 6 stringers than the BP with the low endders?

I didn't see where anyone compared the BP335
to the BP8 tube preamp,

The BP8 puts all the other Digitech boxes to
shame as far as I know.

I know the BP335 has more connection options.
But, does it really sound better than the BP8?

I paid $35 for my BP8. That's a lot of bang for
the buck. The guy that sold it to me thought it
was just another junk Digitech.

Boy! was he wrong,

I've gigged with it a few times. I haven't used it through a PA system, but I have used it with my rig. it sounded pretty cool. I'm pretty sure it would sound totally awesome through a PA system. it's also sounded really awesome for recording. I've recorded a few songs for my band with the digitech bp355 and the songs sounded pretty cool with the patches I've programmed on my digitech bp355.

Thanks Crystalman. Another question, I assume you can simply use one of the XLR outputs to run into the mixer? You don't have to have both L/R XLR outputs into a mixer, right?

It will simply give me a mono sound right? I ask because with the 1/4" outputs I see one for mono and don't see the same thing for the XLR outputs. Thanks.

That depends on how you set it up. there are 2 xlr outputs on the digitech bp355. one xlr output is for mono. the other xlr output is for stereo.

From Sec1:7 page 11 of 40 of the down-loadable manual for the BP355:
Invalid Link Removed

"The XLR outputs are always configured for stereo operation."

This makes sense since most of this unit's effects (and those of the RP355) require stereo imaging for the best results. The XLR outs are intended to achieve those results. Use two channels on the FOH board.
