It's cool, but I'd never pay 6k for any bass.

The NS-2 shape + PJ pickups with covered poles is just aesthetically perfect. No wonder Warwick couldn't resist.

The Ibanez SR800ish were really good looking, sounding and easy playing as well. I hope they make a comeback.

A painted bass ain't worth that kind of money. If the wood were something really special (and you didn't paint it), maybe. But you'd have to have a long enough upper horn for the thing to balance, well, and not a PJ pickup arrangement, and... OK, I'm picky.

the thing you don't realize I guess is, ANY new US Spector costs that much. And they seem to keep building and selling them so there are a lot more than 10 people.

At least for that price it has fancy fret markers. I was gawking at the Gene Simmons bass, for around the same price, and it was just utterly underwhelming... $7k, you're giving me standard dots?

For $7K, you get Gene's copied signature on a blingy Thunderbird. Yay.

Oh I am well aware of Spector pricing, but I am simply not the target market I guess

The Fodera VW Classic also has the EMG without the pole pieces exposed..looks amazing.

He's a bass version of Simon Phillips, reputation as a flashy shredder but actually a super solid and tasteful rock sideman. Or maybe like Bob Daisley but with hidden chops.
