Well, that was intuitive! If it's the look of it, you can change that. Just choose the Talkbass Retro style. (on the blue bar at the bottom of the page, left side)
It's just one of two ways - the more intuitive way is perhaps to go to your user preferences and choose the style there. Click your user name top right on the page and select Preferences.Well, that was intuitive!
I've done a complete 180...hated the first day...but now that I'm used to it I love it...Great job Paul and everyone else who made it happen!
Not if people don't provide feedback over what they don't like, and what they'd like to see improved. It's only been a couple days - I'm sure they'll roll out more options with time.
Have you tried the "TalkBass Retro" theme? It has a dark blue bar between each post. Here's how your post looks with the Retro theme:

A new issue I've notice: if I manually type in some code, such as italics, I can't see that code if/when I go to edit the post later. So If I accidentally flagged a whole paragraph italic or something, I have to try an visually guess where the code starts and ends. (the italics button will highlight, when you have your cursor in an affected area).
this could really be very frustrating, with large posts.
*If you turn off "use rich text editor" in preferences, you can see bb code/html code when you edit posts. but then you lose all the advanced buttons...

It's the opposite for me. The new layout has brought me back. Everything before was quite a mess and too many clicks to get where I wanted to be. No easy way to see where new things were commented and that I'd been quoted in some place.
One thing I do really miss, however, is the button to go right to the newest post on the front page. Now you have to click it at the top of the thread after clicking on the thread first.
Quick edit: Also, everyone gets avatars now? *goes and updates that right away!*

It feels basically like a combination of TH and Facebook...as far as that goes I'm still on the fence. I'm sure as I use it more it'll get better...
