The New Talkbass format

If it's the look of it, you can change that. Just choose the Talkbass Retro style. (on the blue bar at the bottom of the page, left side)

+1. The Retro style looks a lot like the old TB. I prefer it.

And there's always gonna be some kind of learning curve when a user interface changes. IMHO, the adjustment ain't too hard; just takes a little exploration to find where your fave features are.

the style changer is a membership saver for me. kind of a drag it only sticks until I leave. Every time I come back I need to reset. I thought it was because I'm an obsessive cookie cleaner but it does it regardless.

I doubt I'm going to use it less, BUT it would be nice to be able to have more options regarding background and font. Its the new millennium for god's sake. Being locked into 2 choices is pretty lame. A new format should have AT LEAST as many view options as the old one, not less.

I am liking it .. not sure why it seems to move so much faster, and the pics on the classified page helps too ... its like anything, a few months from now, those that stick with it will be old pro's at it ;)

+1 on the Retro. It helps.

Yes, there are a some hurdles in the new format and lots of familiar locations and procedures are gone. But as others said: we'll get used to it. I do like being able to search for fewer than 3 characters.....I think I'll stick around and try to discover some of the new, improved and more powerful features while trying to move beyond what has changed.

It's only been a couple of days, I'd give it some time both to get used to it and to let the site owners fix (the surprisingly few) bugs, tweak the functionality and maybe add more themes. It's the content and the people that matters after all, I for one am not giving that up over some graphical and functional changes.

I like it. Except for that Fecaelboke-like "Like" thing, that I hate.

Thanks, I'll try that, I couldn't find anything to alter the look until you posted that. I used to use the old site's personalisation of the site look to differentiate whether I was logged in or not, I could tell at a glance: white background not logged in; full blue scheme I'm logged in. (I multitask whilst on the computer...)

It's only been a couple days - I'm sure they'll roll out more options with time.

"If you only knew the POWER of the dark side... Old-TB-want never told you what happened to your forum"

It's a very powerful new system with cool things such as:
- alerting you to when somebody replies to your post
- alerting you that new messages have been contributed to a thread while your typing a reply "View them?"

I'm sure there'll be a few more features I like that I won't use the "Like" button for, ever.
