Andrew Shaw to have a hearing today for his hit on Mike Smith: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Nothing yet on supplemental discipline for Asham, Neal and Adams.

Edit: now I'm seeing reports that Shanahan will delay hearings on Neal and Asham by one day because the series has a 2-day break. Neal scheduled for two separate hearings Tuesday at 10 AM, Asham scheduled for hearing Tuesday at 11 AM.

You guys are really digging for reasons to hate the Pens. I don't really know why since you're up 3-0.

The quoted article has a sense of entitlement? Come on, really? As for the bit about Crosby and his reaction, talk about drawing some conclusions? Yikes. If you don't like the guy anyway, you'll find more reasons to hate him no matter what he says. If he said the Flyers were great and playing excellent hockey, you'd say he was being condescending and lying about how he felt. Leave it alone and enjoy the games already.

-Mike

Actually, the LetsGoPens board is imploding over that last game and the word "entitlement" comes up several times over there:

I've never seen the Flyers boards get this bad! :D

Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet reports that James Neal of the Pittsburgh Penguins will have two separate hearings for running Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux at the end of Game 3; and, Arron Asham will have an in-person hearing for cross-checking Brayden Schenn to the neck — expect a massive ban on that one.

The in-person hearing means that the league is considering a suspension of at least 6 games.

Sorry, Mike, but you're wrong on this. No-one needs to dig for reasons to dislike Crosby.

How am I wrong? Any posts on what Malkin had to say? Adams? Neal? Bylsma? Nope. More than a few of you have no problem bragging how much you hate Crosby, and that's fine. When you start adding your own commentary to what you think someone else said/meant, you're digging.

You Flyers guys can all sit there in you 3-0 ivory tower and act like what you saw yesterday was the biggest travesty in hockey and how your team is so far above it, when you know it would be the other way around if the Pens had just beat the crap out of the Flyers in three straight games.

Well, the Flyers have only been playing better for a couple years now, so I suspect the Philadelphia fans aren't used to it like they are in Pittsburgh? :)

What I don't get is why Flyer fans are hanging around Pens forums and websites? I used to post all the time on a Steelers forum, and every week we'd get guys from the other team coming around to talk crap and cause trouble. I'd hope you guys are above that. Honestly, this is the only forum I visit and post on about hockey.

Sorry, Mike, but you're wrong on this. No-one needs to dig for reasons to dislike Crosby. He showed his character to the nation yesterday, and it's not pretty.

I've was rooting for Crosby's return this season. I wanted him to succeed, because I don't like to see anyone's career ended by concussions, and I didn't want someone of his obvious skill level to be lost from the game prematurely. Sure, I ultimately wanted him and his team to lose and be eliminated by the Flyers, but I was rooting for him to return as one of the game's great players because I thought that his return to the game would be good for the Penguins and good for the game. It turns out that it hasn't been good for either, because he proved yesterday--once again--that for all of his skill, he is nothing but a whiny punk. He does not deserve to be the face of the league, and I am hopeful that yesterday's puerile display will be the final nail in his coffin in that regard.

I agree on this. I was hopping he'd come back with a bit of wisdom and judgement. But the guy is still a cheap shot artist who gets protected by the league endlessly while he whines and complains when someone retaliates. The Pens definitely suffer from a lack of veteran leadership, and it has no doubt hurt Crosby's career.

Are you kidding?

I don't like you Mike
I don't like anybody on your team Mike

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

I can't tell if you're laughing because you're kidding or if you think you're funny. If you really don't like me because of a hockey team I like, that's too bad. I don't get how people make that transition, but I realize plenty of people do, so you're not alone.

I like all the guys who post here, regardless of what team they like or don't like. Honestly, a couple of the Flyer guys are ones I respect the most.

I to think your wrong. And apparently so does the league. The actions of the pens have no defense. It was classless and they will be penalized. There is no digging needed, just watch the tape, nhl network is replaying it at 3. Heres a list since you forgot so quickly.

Crosby hitting the glove (dosent bother me)
Asham cross check to the neck then a punch to a defenseless player on the ice to the back if the head.
Niel taking runs at two defenseless players without the puck just to hurt them.
Hartnell double teamed in a fight (with hair being pulled, really hair pulling).
The rest of it dosent bother me.
But then the interviews were ridiculous, even your coach danny boy could defend his team and just studdered the whole time.

Ya think...?

Most definitely I think and that is what the writer I quoted thought as well. The pic you linked shows the stick high and above Schenn's arms shortly after he was cross-checked in the throat. If the league didn't have evidence, there wouldn't be an in-person hearing. NBC showed it during the game and in between periods and during breaks in the Devlis/Panthers game.

This happens on both sides. I have never done it and never will. But I see the other teams on my flyers pages and flyers facebook. Strange, haven't seen them in the last few hours. Hmmmm,i wonder why?

While the Flyers-Pens slaughter rages on, my lowly Kings are a game away from knocking out the best team in the West. Dustin Brown is on fire, and Jonathan Quick is continuing the spectacular goaltending he showed all season.

I am pulling for you guys and glad it's happening. Still like Mike Richards alot, nice to see him and Carter still doing it.

OK, OK, clearly I failed to make my point.

What a few of the Pens did is wrong, stupid, classless, and ignorant. I already called for Asham and Neal to be suspended this series and into the next regular season. No room for what they did in this sport.

So we are clear....I am NOT defending the players in question OR their antics.

What I was trying to say was how some people hate Crosby so much, they dig up stuff about him. In particular one persons interpretation of what he thought Crosby was saying. Which led to my comment that some of you hate him so much that if he complimented your team, you'd call him condescending and a liar.

Just so we're clear on another point....I did in fact pick the Flyers to win this series while the rest of you picked the Pens. I feel it's obvious I am not a Pens homer.
