I have to say,i have always hated the penguins but have always respected them. More then most. They are our rivals so I should hate them, but now I have no respect for them. Atleast not this team. They showed that they are spoiled, heartless, and have no character. They showed this to us and the entire league. I know the players will regulate the league. So I would like to go on record saying when these shitsburgh dbags get extremely injured I will have no sympathy. They deserve it, live by the sword and die by it. I am very proud of my Flyers, for being men, standing toe to toe, protecting themselfs and not being suckered into classless play.

I'm not sure these words have ever been uttered, but considering the games so far (and including the current VAN-LA tilt) the Bruins are starting to look like one of the cleanest teams in hockey!

I wasn't really surprised by the cheap-shot antics of Asham. Cross-checking the kid's adam's apple was bad enough; but to jump on him and punch him in the head while he was proned out on the ice was really cheap. But not really surprising.
Now Neal DID surprise me. I didn't expect that crap from him. Couturier wasn't even close to the puck or trying to make a play. Just a total cheap-shot. And then I thought, "Well, he has to feel bad about that one". But no! He takes an unnecessary run at Giroux and tries to take HIS head off. I would not have expected that from him.
Crosby should have had his ### kicked several times in that game. I have no idea why he was going after Hartnell from behind. I think if Hartnell had been aware that it was Crosby trying to start something with him, he would have turned around much more quickly and welcomed the invitation. But by the time he grabbed Crosby, Adams was flailing away at him (ALSO from behind!). By the way, nice hair-pull, Adams.

There is some ugly, ugly "hockey" being played this week and it's a disgrace to the league. :scowl:
It used to be that very few players broke the unwritten rules of hard hitting and fighting but now it's rampant with players being run over from behind when they don't even have the puck and taking off the gloves and pounding on someone when he's down on the ice and isn't in a position to fight or even defend himself. Absolutely viscous cheap shots are everywhere.
And it seems the refs are totally oblivious - or at least powerless. When a player comes to bail out his teammate who is being pounded on he gets an additional penalty and the team that instigated the cheap shot goes on the power play.
The league had better do something about this right now.

I missed the entire 1st period of the Pens/Flyers...I got in about 4:30-ish & thought, "...great, at least I'll see the 3rd Period". When I saw they were still in the 1st Intermission...uh oh-

I think the officials felt sorry for Dupuis since Jagr was making him look terrible even though he was holding him. Then the goal was the icing on the cake. It was an awesome play, I was cheering for Jagr too. I was hoping he was going to do a spinarama and score himself.

Good game, lousy officiating, not saying it favored either side just lousy. The players on both teams have no idea what or when something will be called.
As far as the pressure, Detroit has won 5 cups and been to the playoffs 21 straight season, I suspect they've been down a game in a series before.
All I can say is I'm glad that game was broadcast on national (or international) television for the world to see how classless the Penguins are capable of playing. Between Neal's cheap shot on Couturier and Crosby batting Voracek's glove away as he was stooping to pick it up to the hair pulling, I have zero respect for the Pens right now. It's understandable for tempers to flare during the playoffs, but that was ridiculous. Just about every scrap yesterday was either instigated by or involved Sidney Crosby. All I know is that it's gonna go down Wednesday night. On a less serious note, I loved the Hulk Hogan video they played during the game!

Sorry, Mike, but you're wrong on this. No-one needs to dig for reasons to dislike Crosby. He showed his character to the nation yesterday, and it's not pretty.
I've was rooting for Crosby's return this season. I wanted him to succeed, because I don't like to see anyone's career ended by concussions, and I didn't want someone of his obvious skill level to be lost from the game prematurely. Sure, I ultimately wanted him and his team to lose and be eliminated by the Flyers, but I was rooting for him to return as one of the game's great players because I thought that his return to the game would be good for the Penguins and good for the game. It turns out that it hasn't been good for either, because he proved yesterday--once again--that for all of his skill, he is nothing but a whiny punk. He does not deserve to be the face of the league, and I am hopeful that yesterday's puerile display will be the final nail in his coffin in that regard.
