What are your guys' broadcasts like on the Devils game. I've noticed that for some reason the camera angle is always very low to the ice. Makes it kind of hard to see some of the plays developing and in the corners.
I'm watching on MSG+, but Rangers games on MSG are never shot like this.
And as I am typing this the Devils just buried it. Congrats to them. Peter DeBoer looks too tired to celebrate haha

The Panthers will be one of the top contenders next year. They're a young team and really overachieved this season through sheer hard work and ambition. Next season will be fun for their fans.

Okay All Settled up in the east now. Sadly I missed tonight's action but it wrapped up pretty much how I expected it to with the Rags and the Devils moving on.

So, I got all 4 right in the East, huzzah! The West, not so much, but at least I got the important match-up in that one right.
I went 6/8 in Round 1. I'll gladly take that.
Round 2 Picks:
Washington vs. New York- Washington. Not because I think they'll win, but because I think everyone needs them to win so that NY won't bring the cup home. Holtby and Henrik have both been hot, but I think Washington can pull it off if they keep guys like Gaborik off the scorecard.
New Jersey vs. Philly- Gonna take the Flyers. They have the grit needed to make it to the SCF, and if the Pens series was any indication, they plan on making it there. I don't think MB can keep a much more talented Flyers team off the board as well as he could a Florida team just finding its legs.
St. Louis vs. Los Angeles- I'm going to say LA pulls it off on Quick's shoulders, but it's a hard series for me to call.
Phoenix vs. Nashville- Nashville. How hard can it be to knock those pesky Coyotes out after beating Detroit and getting plenty of practice time/rest? In all seriousness, I think we are more talented than Phoenix, and we proved we could win on the road. PHX struggled to put Chicago down, and I think we will give them fits by playing hard-working, 2-way hockey.
That leaves my Conference Finals as:
Washington @ Philly
and
Los Angeles @ Nashville
Hmm, looks like I got 5 out of 8 right. 3 right in the East, only 2 in the West. Let's see if I can go 4 for 4 this round...

New York over Washington in 7 - This is just going to be a goalie duel. Neither team can generate much offense lately and both goalies are hot. I think home ice makes the difference here and the Rangers are hungrier. Lundqvist with the experience in net.
Philadelphia over New Jersey on 5 - Forget it. This isn't going to be close. Philadelphia has Brodeur's number lately and they are hungry. New Jersey doesn't have the fire pwoer to keep up. Philadelphia began a team defensive strategy in Game 6 of the Pittsburgh series that supported Bryzgalov and they are getting healthy on defense.
Western Conference
#8 LAK vs #2 STL
#4 NSH vs #3 PHO
St. Louis in 6 over Los Angeles - Goalie duel again, this time between Quick and Elliot. I give the nod to St. Louis based on coach Hitchcock's tactics on defense. This is going to be a really low scoring series.
Nashville over Phoenix in 5 - Another goalie duel in the playoffs? Are you kidding me? This one won't be a big as the other two because Rinne just outclasses Smith. Hands down. Nashville looked hungry too outsing Detroit in 5 (although Detroit looked long in tooth too).

The style that Washington played against the B's will give them a chance against the Rangers. It strikes me as really pretty similar to the way that both the B's and Rangers play - physical, solid defensively while relying on the goalie to make the stops on long or wide shots. The Caps give up rebounds but they also tend to clear the puck and the shooters out pretty well so it didn't hurt them against the B's. Should be a good series.

Something else interesting to note... The only Atlantic Division team eliminated played another Atlantic Division team. The other three are still in it! Only Washington from the Southeast represents any other division.
It could be an all Atlantic Division Conference Final this year after starting out with the bracket the way it was set. Figures with the way the points were at the end of the season.
