He will get suspended,i think alot worse then must. Shanahan dosent put up with that sort of stuff. There is no"he had it coming". He got frustrated, grabbed a players helmet and slammed his face into the boards and got caught from many angles doing it. Such a dbag move.

I honestly didn't think what Weber did was that bad... guess I'm in the minority.

Still upset about the Pens Flyers game. Still annoyed about Briere being a foot offsides on the first goal too! But Pens did not deserve to win that game as they forgot to play for the whole thing.

You Penguin fans have to keep in mind that Philly had some say in the outcome when you say your team forgot to play the whole game. Philly turned the pressure up & Pittsburgh didn't have an answer for it. That's not the same as "not playing for 60 minutes". Claiming your team "just quit" doesn't show enough respect for the team that made adjustments & then just plain came out & beat you.

As for Detroit & Nashville......well, it's the playoffs. You're supposed to get your head slammed into things.....

Philly turned the pressure up & Pittsburgh didn't have an answer for it. That's not the same as "not playing for 60 minutes". I said nice comeback for the Flyers. Sorry, not going to pat them on the back any more than that. Pens got lazy and didn't play the same as they did in the first period. Poor passes in their own zone and left MAF out to dry many times. Bob Errey pointed it out well that on the last two Flyers goals, every Pen on the ice was staring at the puck instead of picking up a body. Sure Flyers stepped up their game but Pens disappeared as well.

The Flyers saw it, probably recognized it from previous games and watching tape, cranked up the pressure as you noted and took the game away from the Pens. They get all the respect they want from me for getting up off the ice and knocking the Pens out.

Games like this is where I miss a guy like Bill Geurin or Hal Gill. Some veteran who can round up the team and pull them together to finish strong. As much as I like guys like Malkin, Neal, Staal, and Michalek, none of them are like that. You could tell watching that HBO series about them, it's a bunch of dudes like brothers having fun and getting along while being good at hockey. There isn't that "elder statesman" guy around to keep everyone focused and ready to play 60 minutes. Crosby has played, what ten games in two years? No one is looking to him for toughness or leadership.

I watched half of the first period of the Vancouver game before falling asleep, and probably witnessed a month's worth of diving & embellishing from those clowns. And they wonder why the entire country outside of BC hates that fn team.

The Weber hit was comical. Zetterberg came in from behind Weber to get the puck. First Weber sort of punches Z's head from behind. When that didn't work, he grabs his helmet, pulls his head back and then throws it into the glass.

I really don't think there was as much impact as Zetterberg made it out to be, there just wasn't that much room there, Weber and him were too tight on the boards. Plus that's not the hard seamless glass there. If it had been into the seamless glass or the ice or boards, yeah, maybe... but Z skated off on his own easily.

But then Shanaban was a Wing so I smell a one game suspension coming....

I agree, Zetterberg seemed to embellish the whole thing. But it doesn't take away from Weber's actions or intentions. I expect to see a suspension.

Well, it would have been 2-2 had the linesman not inexplicably waived off icing on the play that resulted in Pittsburgh's third goal.

There were also some penalty calls on the Flyers that were pretty borderline in a game where the officials were "letting them play," and some non calls on Pittsburgh on remarkably similar plays. For example, I'm still trying to figure out how the Penguine who punched Schenn in the face at the end of the second period didn't get a roughing penalty.

Also, fine the pens didn't show up at the end of the game. Then I argue the flyers didn't show up at the beginning. How sloppy we played and hung out or goalie was the same thing.

Well said. With guys like Timonen, Briere, Jagr, and a few others on the Flyers... that's an elder statesman core right there with leadership that the young guns can learn from and look up to in a series like this.

Well, in fairness, I'm still bitter about the offsides goal from 1980, so I can understand their frustration. But in this particular game I do agree with you that there were two questionable calls from the linesmen, which led to a goal for each team.

That may be true, but i think Jagr is the only one form that "core" who's won anything. Pittsburgh just won the cup a few years ago. I think it's a wash.
