erm...letsee...
i'm Canadian by citizenship, but i've only lived here for 4 years..(and before that i lived in the U.S.!)
so you see, i'm not a "typical" Canadian in that:
-i don't like beer at all
eek: )
-i haven't been up north, actually i haven't even seen much of Canada
-i haven't ever owned or played a Yorkville or a Godin (but otoh, i haven't played much)
-i don't say eh at all
-hey but i like the leafs..but they're not doing too well i heard are they?
-that's about it
i'm still new!
time for you other Canadians to kick me out..lol....

Just wondering. I'm starting to audition for bands (yay, I'm in demand) but I noticed a connection between BC bands and BC bud.
My clothes really stink. I think I need to hit up Value Village and get some audition / performing clothes.

I started playing bass August 2001. Best decision of my life!
My biggest influence: John Entwistle.
Favorite bands: The Who, Rush, Iron Maiden, ACDC, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Guns n' Roses, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, U2
Modern Bands that I like: Nirvana, QOTSA, SOAD, The Strokes, Andrew W.K, and those canadian punks, SUM41
Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, John Paul Jones, Duff McKagan, and Stu Hamm are other bassist that I admire. However, there are obviously others who have impressed me.
I'm a huge hockey fan. Obviously, the Canadiens are #1 in my heart. But, I love all the other Canadian teams also, specially The Senators and The Oilers. However, I despise Toronto. Not only in hockey...hehe
Beer is high up my "To Do List...".

One great thing about Canada is the beer policy. At least here in Montreal, people are lenient to the point of ridiculousness! I used to buy beer for my parents at the age of 16. At that age, I started going the pool bar I usually go to. Never got IDd. Everyone I know had the same experiences. Yet, we dont have as many DWI scenarios as in the US. Cops are kinda cooler here than in the States. But, they still are cops.

Ah yes, good old Quebec where the legal drinking age is merely a suggestion. It's pretty well known to anyone over the age of 15 living near the Ontario/Quebec border that you'll be able to get into bars and buy beer no problem, especially if you are female. Just don't try to get into the casino.

- i practically have a second home in Toronto, and why do they only have starbucks in Vancouver??? ewwww!!!!
i dont like coffee, or doughnuts, or beer. i prefer camomile tea, cupcakes and vodka.

I live in Edmonton, AB and love it. I started playing double bass and bass guitar a little more than a year ago.
I have been going to bluegrass jams since I started learning to play. What a great group of folks - no posing just playing. And always supportive and willing to pass on all that they know. Bluegrass has been great for me to get familiar with the double bass and to exercise my rhythm since in Bluegrass there are no drums so the bass holds the rhythm down. If you are in Edmonton and want to attend a jam there's one every week at the PleasantView Community Hall (Link Removed).
Edmonton has a few great pockets of talented folks - you just need to know where to look.

I was in Canada for about 9 yrs.. in Coquitlam Vancouver. And I say, Canada ROCKS! Love every moment i was there. My sister and my brother in law are both still there.

-I can remember going to family reunions north of the border.
-My Grandpa Pommerville was an American radio opperator in France, because he was fluent in French, thus could call in targets to both English and French artillery.
-People at school tell me that I talk like a Canadian.
-I have been asked if I am from Canada numerous times for the above reason. (I also get asked if I am Mexican/Latino, so go figure).
-I left the guitar ghetto 3 years ago.
-I played organized hockey for 11 years, and pond hockey before that.
-I really DO have a pet beaver, but she is visiting family in Wisconsin at the moment.
