I like NASCAR. I'm in a fantasy NASCAR league on Yahoo--in 3rd place but drafting behind the 2nd place person. ;) My nephew says I look like Kyle Petty. I don't get the NASCAR truck racing thing, though.

I also like open wheel racing--F1, CART, and IRL.

Whatevuh, Munj. If you don't have any time behind the wheel in some form of sanctioned motorsport, your idea of cool and uncool is that of a spectator. Kinda like listening to a non-musician talk about their favorite guitar hero.

I have respect for all "real" and sanctioned motorsports, and I am the arbiter of coolness on all matters, motorsports and otherwise, as you should know.

Bass is easy, anybody can play it. It's all root notes, they never have to play anything hard, and they are never really even seen, heard, or even noticed.

Does this statement strike a nerve with anyone? Why is that? Because it is endless rambling by the uninformed, and shows ignorance for something they obviously know nothing about.

The idiotic uninformed statements here strike the same nerves with me. Quartebacking is just throwing and handing off balls right? pfft, I can do that like no ones business fron the couch.

I'd be the first to admit that autocross is not always particularly fun to watch. But it is fun and extremely competitive if you're actually doing it. I've made my wife almost vomit after a 60 second ridealong (insert joke here), and I've come away with bruised knees and chest (seatbelt strain) riding along with national-level drivers. It's not always as tame as it can sometimes look when watching an H-stock newbie mosey around the cones.

And drag racing is cool, too. Can't we all just get along? :bassist:

I'd be curious to take one of those 900+ Hp engines and put it into a NASCAR car (or add 2200 lbs to a formula car), to see how well it would run. My guess is it would be a pig. Horsepower is one thing, but with only a 1.6" stroke it cant produce all that much torque, even if it can spin 18,000 rpm.


Horsepower sells cars.........you know the rest. ;)

Well of coarse, it's a total package.

But I wouldn't sell them short on torque.
0 to 100 is in under 2 1/2 seconds and lets not forget that those wings are producing about 5000 pounds of downforce. That's alot of aero drag. So it ain't like they're just slipping through the air

The Enzo street ferrari is getting 484 FT/LBs of torque. So I would imagine they're getting alot more than that out of a full blown race engine. Not bad for an engine with cylinders the size of baby food jars :eek:

But anyway, non of this has anything to do with why I hate NASCAR

I know enough about nascar to know what I'm talking about. And I still think its the most idiotic, worthless "sport" ever invented.
