Questions for those with headless Maruszczyk basses...
*Will the clamp-style headpiece also accommodate Steinberger-esque double ball-end strings?
*For those using traditional string sets, what's your procedure for installation? I'm concerned about breakage, over-tightening, etc. Perhaps it's a non-issue in this situation but I'd like to keep it that way.

For the headless version, you can choose between two headpieces:
1.) a headpiece for regular strings. Strings will be fixed with screws (allen key required)
2.) a headpiece for double ball-end strings
^ What he said. I have a regular string set on mine. I let a tech set up my basses, so no idea regarding your second question.
@DavetheDude @BassmanM Thank you! I'm not sure which hardware (ABM?) Adrian uses but I bet it can be swapped-out if desired...betcha it's pricey, though!

Kickin'! You don't have much of a choice with that headpiece. Strangely enough, I can't find a detailed pic of the black headpiece in question. Unlike yours, it appears to be channeled on top with the locking hex screws. Here's a condensed dialogue with Adrian:

"But if I understand the headpiece is for standard strings with the allen key (3mm) with the screws or without the screws for double end strings.
Greetings

Me:
"Yes, this uses standard strings with allen key. If I remove the screws, can I use the vacant slots for double ball-end strings? I apologize for the confusion."
Adrian:
"Hm, yes, I hope, maybe you have problem that the balls to small or something like that, you must try this. Maybe you a kind of U profile between ball end and headpiece."

ok I usually don't post on the forum but I eventually had to get a 4 strings passive bass built for my own self! Here you go! (and like anyone else, I had to wait 4 months )
