I am sure a few have seen it already, but just in case you haven't: For Sale - Headless Maruszczyk Custom 5
I am selling my beloved 5-string headless Frog. Long story short, I rarely need a 5-string these days, and my basement flooded/I need a new garage, so I'm selling a lot of gear I don't really want to sell.

Just came across these basses and made something up in the configurator, then started browsing backwards through the thread and find something that looks suspiciously similar to my config
That wenge neck as opposed to the flame maple is very nice! Seriously considering going for one of these instead of my Wenge warmoth build that I've been speccing, slightly more expensive though. And the last few pages of this thread have me wondering a little about QC...Is your Wenge neck finished or left raw so you can enjoy the grain?

I have three Maruszczyk basses without any issues as the ones described on the previous pages. Those were two cases of which we only know one side. Considering that Maruszczyk has already sold very many basses, I do not think you have to worry any more about QC than with other manufacturers.
Our club member @Pierre Ganseman is a dealer and can probably chime in.
Yeah going further through the thread makes me feel better, just picked a poor time to drop in. I can't stop thinking about that wenge/surf green(seafoam green?) bass either... It's everything I've basically been trying to come up with for some time now. So tempted.

Hi guys , yes i am indeed.
Let me be very clear that regarding those two issues previously mentioned. I am by no means siding with anybody whatsoever. I haven't seen the basses so I refuse to do so.
All I can say , yes problems happen that's just that.. However In my 3 years with Maruszczyk , they all have been dealt with to my utter satisfaction. Keep in mind too that there's a big "human factor" in custom shop builds and small biz operation, Nothing in your Maruszczyk Bass is imported , sub contracted or anything. Adrian buys rough wood, they buy trees to process tops etc etc.
Problems are just and only statistics. For example ... Fedex actually wrecked (literally KILLED) a bass of mine recently. Beyond repair. Went to Trash. 1st time it happens. And the week after managed to deliver a custom Elwood in Honululu in 56 hours....which i found absolutely stunning.
Out of all my shipments with Fedex they destroyed one instrument which equalled to 0,2% on nearly 4 years.
Does this mean they're a bad company???? probably not.
Out of 4 years of sending about 450 (From Moon to Atelier Z to a 560 dollar Greco) basses in 60 countries I've probably had about ...5 to 10 warranty issues. and 2 Returns. I absolutely suck at math but I like to think those are fair stats and my products are not bad. So I like to think i'm a sort of capable dealer lol.
So yeah , I wouldn't worry. Go for it.
Did a mock up of @TonyRo 's bass with the roasted flame maple neck... this is a hard choice for sure. I really like how dark the wenge is but I also wonder how much it'd cost to deviate from the configurator. Going to have to think long and hard about this but at this point, I think I'll be ordering something for sure.

My question would be whether the effect of the "roasting" is significant enough as the all wenge neck is indeed very purdy...

very hard to say. Some people say roasted necks are more stable.
I , myself , can't say for sure. i've seen roasted necks move and "normal" ones be stable as it gets.
My M245 Atelier Z still hasn't moved and i've had it 3 years.
It is not only about stability. Some people say the roasting has a significant effect on the sound as well, because the wood is so dry and "behaves" differently, comparable even to the neck of a vintage instrument.

I might be a little biased, but I'd go with the Wenge. 
As far as being worried about the price, the two things that were not in the configurator were the Delano Times Square Pickups with the series/parallel/single coil 1/single coil 2 rotary switches, and the 3-piece wenge neck and fingerboard. I ended up around $2400 USD, so you can compare whatever you've currently got in the configurator to that cost if you'd like. And I left the Wenge matte, I am not a huge fan of gloss necks!

I love the woods in the neck on my Warwick but damn it's heavy and one hell of a thick neck as well. I did some googling around and came across Warmoth and eventually this beautiful strat which inspired the configurator I did when I discovered Maruszczyk today

However, they are not entirely the same. The Frog has a little more pastel / white, while the green is a little richer on the Mr Tee.
My custom Nordstrand pickups have arrived. Getting installed this week.

just shoot the owner an email. You should have an answer relatively quick. He's a man of few words but one of the most generous and down to earth i've ever met.
Assuming he is in Germany, he just replied at 7:35 am. That's service! Now I'm wondering if they do custom finishes too, this one seems kind of difficult and probably expensive but I am veeeery tempted to ask
