I like the sound of the Aguilar pickups and electronics personally. I had a listen to almost all the videos on the Public Peace youtube channel and that was the combination that (along with the Sputnik) that was most pleasing to my ears. I would say it is very versatile as well and you get a huge range of cut/boost it seems. A few players that I like also use them (although I'm sure they would sound good with any pickups). Adrian hinted that there might be a video of it coming but I'm not certain there.

One thing I found strange was that I didn't tell Adrian if I would prefer a toggle switch or a push pull for the mid range frequency selector on the OBP3 pre-amp... so he just didn't do either - I can't switch the mids. Not a big deal I suppose as fitting a push pull later should be a quick job. Just something to look out for I guess. Possibly my fault?

Anyway, yes... took me a couple of weeks to get the hands and brain used to it and just make those little adjustments to string height but I now feel very much at home there. Really enjoying playing it now.

I've got a couple of go-to settings on the preamp now as well. Tend to do very little with the bass. Just a nudge of boost for a slap sound (along with cut mids and little boost on treble and slight bias to the neck pickup). I also like going almost full to the bridge, cut the highs, boost the mids.. loads of options though. All just taste I guess.

The big problem is that I think I want a 6 string as well now...! Looking forwards to seeing your bass too, although no doubt not as much as you are..!

so I did ask Adrian , curious .. he said they don't do mid switch unless specifically asked.

I'm sure you've seen a lot more basses than me given your profession so I'll trust you there. But... you can only buy the OBP3 in kits that have either a push pull mid pot or a toggle switch. You have to actively remove part of the kit

Yeah, that's what Adrian told me as well, so I thought it would be useful to other customers to let them know that they need to do that if they are ordering the OBP3.

It seems like a pretty reasonable assumption that if someone orders a pre-amp with a switchable mid, where all the available kits come with either a switch or a push pull for the mid... that they would get one of the options.

Anyway, it isn't a complaint. The bass is fantastic. This is just to help other people with their orders. Thanks for looking into it though, that's the sign of a dedicated dealer, and I always enjoy seeing the basses going through your shop. Some real beauties there..!

honestly it depends , sometimes a bit faster... but generally about 12/15 weeks sounds right.

Sooner is most definitely not impossible however from talking to the boss , it's a fragile chain of supplier and logistic.

at some point one might be on time for 12 weeks but be waiting for Pickups for 4 more weeks from a supplier etc etc. Just happens really.

so yeah :) ! never forget , we're all doing our best at all times lol

yea man, just speaking generally.

Some time last year one of the builder from ETS (bridges and knobs) had some issues causing him to stop production for some time. Was awful.

Basses waiting for bridges lol....

Im looking to buy a frog headless 4a and im wondering about some options and what people think about it. I'm curious if anyone knows which bridge is better for the frog either the WSC Standard or the ETS standard, the WSC looks aesthetically better in my opinion but i dont know how it would affect the tone. Also thinking about getting it bolt on instead of the set neck. The combination of pickups and preamp I would like is probably going to be the Delano SBC 4 HE/S and the OB3 preamps. I know wojtek pilichowski uses those pickups and preamp for one of his signature basses so im looking to get that sound and even more with the pickup miniswitch for series/parallel/single coil. Also thinking about getting it with no radius. And also want to get the carbon rods on the neck wondering if that actually helps with more stability. Anyone have experience with similar builds like this?

First, @Abimael Garcia - welcome to TB! You've entered a world with no shortage of opinions and great advice :)

So here's some of my experiences to share... I have mixed opinions about the bridges, I'm not sure of the tone differences but I do own examples of both. On my Frog, I have the ETS, it is a 2-part bridge (so if you like that) it's easy to manage/adjust and stays in tune well.

I have a bridge that's very similar to the WSC (mono's) on my Status Streamline and like the simplicity of those. They both stay in tune well, however not as well as my old Steinberger bridge. :)

as far as electronics are concerned I really like the tone of the OBP3 and have that in a couple of basses so I don't think you can go wrong with that preamp. I have Delano's in my frog and really like the tone of those pickups as well.

The bolt on vs set neck is really your preference, I have the set neck on my frog and it's super stable and I don't have to adjust it very often so I like that. With that said, most of my other basses have bolt one because I generally prefer the snap/punch of the bolt on vs a set neck or neck through.

All in all Adrian builds a super quality bass so I don't think you can't go wrong with any configuration you pick, in my opinion :thumbsup:

Hey thanks man for letting me know your thoughts. I'm wondering with the Delano's are you able to achieve a jazz bass tone on there as well as a classic humbucker sound Because thats what I need. I've never had experience with pickups like these before.
