I’m not the biggest fan of the slanted/no string tree headstock, although I live with it just fine on my Elwood.
Ok, I’ve got something to ask you guys. I already spoke to @wateroftyne who’s got a Maruszczyk with a string tree, he’s been super helpful but I’m gathering more feedback.
I currently own an Elwood 5c which I love, and I’m looking to get another Elwood built in 2021, this time in 4 string.

I asked Adrian if he could do something like this:

to which he replied:
Yes, but they are maybe still a problem with the E string.
This kind of headstocks works without 0-fret better.
I’m now confused... is it much of an issue? @wateroftyne said his Jake with a string tree on D/G only had no rattling issue with the E/A strings. Why is Adrian stating otherwise?
I mean, Sandberg don’t seem to have any issue with their 0-fret and string tree...

What do you guys reckon?
This doesn’t answer my question dude... no the Sandberg headstock is not slanted, hence why I said I don’t know what Adrian means when he says that “flat headstocks with string tree don’t work well with 0-fret”... when Sandberg’s design seem to work.
I could see how the string tree could pull the strings too far down, causing them to bend against the nut and arch over the zero fret. The sandberg might have a deeper slot on the nut to compensate for that.
Anyway, I haven't heard of string buzz being a common issue on Adrians basses, so who cares.
Just a little picture of my two Maruszczyk basses for anyone who is interested... really happy with them both...View attachment 4083088
I had the same first impression. But then I thought, if it was my closet, there would need to be a few shirts or jackets hanging between each bass. I could see myself accidentally knocking into one and starting a chain reaction of bass collisions. That's an awesome hanging rig. I've never seen anything like it.
Anyone here have a Joker semi-hollow? I've always loved the Yamaha semi-hollow bass Patitucci plays but other than the custom Ibanez and Marleaux Contra I don't think anyone else is really making anything like that.
I am currently waiting on mine. With a little luck, i should receive it before X-Mas...
Thank you! That's an awesome hanging rig. I've never seen anything like it.
I had Frog Headless made this year, but also interested in Jazzus...
I especially like their original bass guitars.
