The more examples I see of the Sputnik the more i think that is the way to go for my first boutique (I've zeroed in on 33" scale and not many builders offer it).
Do you notice any benefits of the single cut and neck join compared to the bolt on offerings?
I have no other basses by Marucsczyk, but my Sputnik is flat out INSANE. I have owned literally every major (and many smaller) custom bass builder's basses. Mine is obviously a set neck, and the string response on the open B, E and A strings is among the finest I have played. It and my Muckleroy are my 2 go-to basses (out of 17 currently, among them, custom F Bass, Nordstrand, Fodera, Elrick, Roscoe, Eshenbaugh, Alleva-Coppolo and Celinder. Mine is a seriously excellent MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, not just a bass.
