So I just discovered these basses. I have my eye on one in the U.S., but for those who have ordered a custom from the U.S., what was your experience like with ordering, wait time, and receiving it?

I'm in MA as well - are you looking at one at a local dealer? I ordered custom both from Maruszczyk USA over FB Messenger (great experience, just over 8 weeks from order to delivery, although quoted almost twice that time) and shortly after from South Shore Music, who were great to deal with on other gear so was happy to support them despite having to pay MA sales tax. Hopefully that second bass arrives in just a couple of weeks.
No, looking at one elsewhere. I want a 32" scale and don't care for the one that South Shore has.
When you ordered direct, how bad was shipping/customs?
I built on the site and contacted Sylvain Bonfardin (Maruszczyk USA) via FB, sending him my configurator pdf. He deals w shipping/customs so it's baked into his price, versus going direct to Public Peace in Germany. I don't know what the discrete charges would be but it ended up about 100 bucks more than the cost of the bass converted from the Public Peace Configurator euros non-VAT price.
As for the brand, buy with confidence, they're not behind Serek in terms of quality.
The body on this one is sweet! Is it a standard Swamp Ash body with tinted clear coat or roasted in some way?

I am curious about the Mr. Tee. I know Tele style basses from other manufacturers tend to have balance issues. I would rather not fight the neck when I play. I would appreciate any input from those of you who have or have tried a Mr. Tee.

Well, you can't change the laws of physics. Where there is no upper horn with 34" scale length, there will be neck-dive.
BUT: Measures can be taken to make handling a little easier. I chose to go medium scale and had Hipshot ultralight tuners installed. To me, the dive is barely noticeable, not more than on many j and p style basses out there. Very manageable for me. I've had my Mr Tee for over 6 years now and play it a lot.
I don't have a Mr. Tee, but I do have a T style bass.
As @BassmanM says, opting for a shorter scale and quality lightweight tuners will help. My T is 30.5" scale.
Also, going for a heavier body wood will help a little too.

Are you talking about the cilinder where the string curls?
If so, I would go with the large diameter. The one that in the configurator says it's better for flats.
With the larger cilinder, you don't need to cut so much string, which is useful if you want to use them on another bass. I also prefer the way they look.

I was not aware of those. I will have to visit the site. I have just been browsing the basses on Reverb.
