That just means I can order an Elwood this month, save up for a bit, order a Jake, save up a bit, order a Mr. Tee.....

I've been checking out Maruszczyk basses for awhile now. The configurator might be what tips me over to actually pulling the trigger on one. I'm thinking Pelham blue with maple or tobacco burst with tort and rosewood. Probably with a J pup at the neck and a humbucker at the bridge.

Or something completely different and equally cool. We'll see....

I took my bass out to a gig on Saturday, came home left it in the case. Yesterday I played it for a little while working on some homework from my lessons. Picked it up today... and nothing.

• Active - nothing
• Passive - nothing
• Change battery - nothing
• Check cable with another bass, same problem
• Switch cable and check with another bass, same problem

The bass is only a few weeks old... a little disappointed.

I sent an e-mail to the American sales rep... let's see how good their warranty work is.

I fear I'm the only one who's having a tough time involving Marusczcyk products.

I have a Jake 5P and the neck on it (while comfortable) is rattling a lot, even after a full jig dress and set up. That's a whole other story.

I've contacted them to see what a fix may be.

My intent isn't to disparage them at all though! When it plays the way I need it to, I'm liking the bass a lot!

I pretty much built that SAME bass yesterday, scroll up in this thread to see it.

I LOVE the color and the set up and the only thing I'd change is to go with a CLEAR pickgaurd. That's a personal choice of know but t I think it's beautiful that way.

Same thing happened to my Elwood. I bought it from Adrian direct, Germany to the US. He sent me a new Delano Sonic 2 preamp, no charge, to replace the Glockenklang. Cost me about $80 to have it professionally installed. Maybe I could have done it myself but I preferred to have it done by someone who does this kind of soldering work all the time. The Delano sounds great and no issues since then. Good luck.

Are these basses worth the time and money? Really GASin'g for PJ bass and the Jake popped up on my feed one day. Thinking of Seafoam Green, tort pickguard, and rosewood neck. The price Adrian gave me is in line with how much I'm willing to pay. Any comments on how it compares to an American Fender P or PJ? I don't need active.

That's great news! I purchased from Sylvain, one of their US re-sellers. I sent him an e-mail yesterday. I think I have the Delano pre-amp in mine.

This is my only 5 string, so I'm hoping that I don't have a 5 string gig before this gets resolved...

I have owned the Guitar Center FSR PJ (passive, seafoam, maple neck, black block inlays) and the same model year Fender PJ (active, seafoam, rosewood neck, dot inlays), as well as compared it sonically to the PJ Elite.

I think you get more versatility in the Delano Xtender pickups. I found that I could get all the same tones from both, but I could squeeze more out of the Maruszczyk.

With the 3 way selector on the mids, and the way the treble pot behaves a little bit more like a tone pot when you back off... and being able to change the bridge pickup from series to single coil to parallel?

I'm really happy with my choice.

Funny you should ask - I've just used my '71 P for a couple of rehearsals for the first time in months and months, and it sounds a bit 'meh'. It's a great bass, but the Jakes just seem to have a bit more life about them. It's hard to describe, and I'm pretty shocked by it...

You could ask Adrian if they'd do that, not sure though, when he did mine he said that they already have issues with the pickguards rolling up after they apply the lacquer, so 2/3 maple pickguards become useless and they need to throw them away. Doing that with some nice flamed maple I'm not sure if it would cost extra.

Besides that, I actually really like the rosewood + black pickguard the longer I look at it.
