The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

I fear I'm the only one who's having a tough time involving Marusczcyk products.

I have a Jake 5P and the neck on it (while comfortable) is rattling a lot, even after a full jig dress and set up. That's a whole other story.

I've contacted them to see what a fix may be.

My intent isn't to disparage them at all though! When it plays the way I need it to, I'm liking the bass a lot!

Pics or it didn't happen, right? (sorry in advance, picture is huge)

Did an experienced luthier do the fret dressing and set up? While it seems straight forward it can be a tricky. Proper relief in the neck? New strings? If so, what kind? SS tends to rattle a bit more than nickel. Try a heavier gauge. If all else fails sell it. Maybe Maruszcyk will take a trade or exchange. Sometimes a bass just doesn't want to cooperate. Looks like a real nice one though.

If it's an issue with bad fretwork, a good tech can fix it with a fretdress.

Can you isolate where the rattle is coming from? Different rattles have different fixes...

The configurator is here if someone feels like playing around with it: Link Removed

For now it seems like they only have a standard Elwood C to configure, I assume they'll add their other models at some point. Seems fairly comprehensive in terms of options, but some don't show up visually (as it mentions when you use it). I guess it is a good start if you feel like planning your build and it could save you (and Adrian) some time by getting the rough thing sketched out in the configurator and then discussing the details with him personally.

Of course I had to try it out myself, this is what I came up with for an affordable (I still went for some premium options though), interesting and "modern" Jazzbass. When they deliver the same quality on all of their basses as they did on my Jake (which I assume) then I think they offer tremendous value here.

In comparison, what you get from Fender in that pricerange are the higher-end MIM Jazzbasses. It's still far away from costing as much as an MIA Fender.

Here is my amazing Maruszczyk Elwood Absolution 5 string. What an incredible instrument! Not only is it stunning to look at but it plays and sounds fantastic. It's my understanding that Adrian (Maruszczyk) is looking to start selling these basses here in the states. I expect they will be quite well received!

Stunning!!! I think the Absolution's are the most beautiful basses "M" makes and this is the most beautiful one I've ever seen .... Hope it plays as beautifully as it looks!

Yeah, they will add other models in the coming months, one per month. It took a year to launch the configurator.
