I have a brand new one for sale in the classified section... it's packed up and boxed waiting for its home. It is a classic Jake P ...beautiful bass but sounds too close to my vintage Fender P...I was looking for a more modern P sound. Please take a look guys. I can save ya a bit of money too. Cheers

It is totally true the statement about giving someone too many options!
I have never even considered a custom instrument before, the closest I have been to making so many decisions was on the Sandberg configurator!!
There aren't many photos of the Elwood shortscale online (at least that I have found), so I have been doing some photoshop comparisons between the 30" 32" and 34" to get a grip on the size of the shortscale. It seems that the 30" uses a much smaller body size than the 32" and 34" that are the same size. Out of the shorties I own, I prefer the ones with larger bodies, so I am thinking that the body of the 30" may be a little small for my taste. I just experimented and swapped the neck on my jazz, relocated the bridge to turn it into a 30" scale jazz with full size body and although it looks a little weird I actually like the way it feels.
The 32" seems to be a good option but I have never played a 32" scale before (at least that I know of), I have been trying to get a grasp for it by adding a capo to the first fret of one of my 34" and think that I will probably like it.
Oh decisions... decisions...

How do you like the blocks without binding? What is the standard bridge on an Elwood L?
I got it without trying it...and i was going for a more modern P bass sound (hence the video if you watch it in the classifieds - i attached it)...and when i got it, it was a dead ringer for my 1970 Fender P i dont need two vintage P bass tones - plus the neck is jazz width - i prefer a bit of chunk.
It is literally brand new - used for about 20 minutes and repackaged up...so its all wrapepd up waiting for its home - i ended up going for another Spector and i will get my P tone from there.
By the way...if you guys are looking for a vintage awesome P tone - definitely upgrade to the Haussel pick-ups like the ones in this one of mine - sounds as perfect as ive ever heard.

One I ordered with a hipshot bridge and the other was a Maruszczky bridge. But you can have them put any kind of Bridge 4 you on bass if you custom order it.
I personally don't like binding on my bass. That's why I didn't order it on my bass.
