I own 3 Maruszczyk basses and although I have only had them several months, I live in the Phoenix area which is notoriously bad on necks with the low humidity. I have a great humidifier in my music office but still deal with fret sprout and having to constantly adjust the truss rods on my other basses. I have not had any issues with Maruszczyk necks and the slightest adjustment on the truss rod goes a long way. Just remember that the adjustment is opposite direction than most other bass necks. (clockwise will loosen the rod)

no need to panic. I've read about maybe a couple of issues. Nothing in comparison to the sea of Maruszczyk basses out there. All I'm saying is, for the small cost, I'd definitely take carbon rods, to play it safe. I'm sure you'd be fine without them too. I just like to protect my investments
Look through this thread and see how many have had neck issues.

I've got a pending order for my first Maru custom. Did a lot of reading and research beforehand and I haven't seen anything regarding problems with neck stability. I ordered mine with carbon rods just as a safeguard (I bought a used G&L ASAT, which I otherwise love, with a nearly maxed-out truss rod, so this is a priority for me) but I would have felt fine without them.
I would like to try one out before buying to make sure the neck shape sits well with me but where I live that's pretty much impossible. So the next best thing is to invest in a cheaper in stock one which costs around 1500 euros
I have a custom one spec'd out which will cost close to 3k euros.
Wait, what specs are you planning on getting? 3k€?!! Damn, all my configurator mockups never go above 1800€....
5 string 35" neckthrough Frog, 3-piece wenge + padouk neck, double MM Delano humbuckers and DG tone capsule. I emailed him about gold pickup covers too. Hope that can be done.

looks classy! I almost went all gold on my current build, but chickened out and went chrome. I even asked if they could do gold frets
I have 3 different Maruszcyzk basses, all 5 strings with standard truss rods, never had an issue. All of the truss rods move as intended when needing adjustment.

I am purging many of my instruments except for a few and consolidating my gear. I will be keeping a custom jazz I made, my NS bass, and my 5 string. I absolutely love both and they will be staying with me. The 5 string is nice but not including it for purposes here. I want to add both MM, and P sounds to my arsenal and I am zeroed in on a MM/P combo, which Maruszczyk seems to do very well. I've never see one of these basses IRL and was hoping for some advice/help/opinions/where to buy, etc...I've also identified Sandberg as a possibility for this setup but there doesn't seem to be many that do it outside of those 2 and Maru fits a tad better into my budget.
I was looking for opinions about the quality so that it might give me an idea what I may be getting. Hearing that the instrument is great and well built will not be enough for me. Any comparisons and real world examples, whatever they may be, is what I am looking for.
Also, best place to buy? Anyone with the MM/P set up here? Drawbacks? Pros? I like the Jake Marus because the of a flatter radius and not a full P nut width...I LOVE the 40mm setup. I've never committed to purchasing a bass at this level before and I'd really like to make a great decision as I am wanting this to be a forever bass.

I'm glad you made this point clear!
I had three Maruszczyk basses made of which I still own two. No issues with the necks so far. I have the feeling that the neck on my Mr Tee, strung with flats for a few years now, hasn't moved at all.
If anything, my Elwood's neck feels very sturdy and doesn't move much!
Here is a video of my P/MM Jake. It's a short scale, so keep that in mind. It's everything I wanted and couldn't be happier with this bass. I'm not a connoisseur of high end basses by any means, but I've not seen a sub-$2000 bass with a better build quality than this. I bought mine through Fretspot several years ago (they made the video) and they were great to work with but I'm not sure they are still a dealer.
In case anyone is interested, I am selling my Jake 5A. Just don't play it much anymore, seems like a shame to leave it hanging on the wall when someone else might really enjoy it.
