Well, I’m very happy with the bass as delivered. Very good punchy jazz tone out of the maruszczyk pickups and the bass is lighter than my American Fender by a lot but also like twice as resonant when I play it. Does anyone happen to know the fret material?

I'm pretty sure the frets are the standard nickle fret wire. I specifically asked for, and got, a stainless steel zero fret on my Frog, but stainless steel was a special request item.

FedEx are awful here in UK. They took over TNT, and they have lost thousands worth of shipments shipped by my work to other places…. My job is to deal with shipments, you can imagine I’ve had a hard time dealing with all this.

I ask, because I once saw a UPS truck in Russia. That blew my mind.

UPS have been consistently reliable for me here in the UK.
I've shipped and received plenty of bass related packages over the years, domestically and into mainland Europe, and I always insist on using UPS, they've never let me down.

DHL are also reliable.

Thomann in Germany used to use UPS, but now ship using UK MAIL which is provided by DHL.

I haven't had any problems with receiving Thomann orders or returning them since Thomann switched to DHL. Sometimes there were lengthy delays when Thomann used UPS, but that could have been down to Brexit logistics.

It certainly is! It led directly to a sale in my case, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I'm playing with it constantly because I'm in for a P-bass upgrade, and Maruszczyk is the only place which offers this combo (outside of total customs):
- P-body
- Wide Neck (40mm)
- 24 frets

It's just that there are too many choices.

I think I have 4 active builds saved at any given time.......then I delete 3 trying to narrow it down to 1 I want, then start all over again.

Imagine a perfect bass...

This has been a paradigm shift for me. As of a few years ago, I was proud of the fact that I had never paid more than $300 for a bass. (My Warmoth parts jazz was the exception, but since I bought it bit by bit, I didn't pay much more than $300 for it at any one time.) That included a couple of Rickenbackers, though those were acquired in the early 80s. It was actually Rickenbacker that broke that barrier when I got a couple more (separated by a couple of years) a few years ago. I decided I'd be willing to spend more money on basses if the basses were good enough and interesting to me.

My Maruszczyk Frog is the first step in a slow-motion adventure of acquiring new, more expensive, more interesting and unique basses. I already have a deposit and ongoing payments to Nikola Adamovic for one of his Soul basses, which will be completed in 2022. After that, I'm contemplating and Eye Bass, Padalka, and Mayones, but I'm also thinking about getting exactly the same Maruszczyk Frog I just ordered, but in a 5 string version.
