The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

Order placed!

There's no turning back! Once your eyes have landed on the configurator, you can never be the same again.
That's true and to be honest I was looking for a Fender American Jazz bass (Performer/Pro I/Pro II), then I casually read a post about this configurator and immediately started researching.

Congrats! I think you will find that you'll be happier with that than you would have been with a Fender. Not that there's anything necessarily wrong with Fenders, but Maruszcyk gives you so many more options, plus you know that the bass was actually made according to your specifications. Knowing that your bass was made with you in mind, and was yours before it ever left the shop, will give you a sense of pride that simply wouldn't be possible with an off-the-shelf product. And having a top quality bass that's not a Fender will make you stand out from the crowd.

Your bass will look a lot like your avatar pic :)

The long wait begins! While the configurator is addictive, it's playing these necks that has made it hard for me to go back to other models. The easiest bass is the one I end up playing and these are it. I'm waiting on this passive Jazzus:

I like it.....the Bruno Blue on Quilted Ash is going to look great. Hope it shows soon. Looks like the EURO is heading in the right direction, might need to pull the trigger soon on one.

Thank you for the kind words, I agree and this is one of the reasons why I chose to trust Maruszczyk. I'm really curious to see the "sofa photo" and play it with joy.

This bass looks great, congratulations on your choice! When did you order it?

I received mine a few months ago and did not have to deal with or pay customs.
I ask because I bought my Frog through a dealer, and consequently didn't have any direct experience. But I have ordered and am currently paying on an Adamovic bass, and that one will be coming straight to me when it's finished.

My new bass will ship to me next week. I ordered 2 extra pickguards because I could not decide which one I liked on the "Golden Madrone" top (Swamp Ash body). What do you think? They are sending all 3. What is the general consensus? Love to hear your opinions....

The pearloid sets off the madrone and seems a nice transition from the light-colored maple fretboard--that's my vote. The tort does go with the sunburst, but doesn't have the two advantages above--it kind of stands out and draws my eyes away from the madrone. The clear makes me wonder why all the beautiful madrone is covered up. :)

I have acquired both a pro ii Pbass, and my maruszczyk this year, and I will say they are very similar fit and finish wise but the neck of the maru' is significantly more pleasant to play

Personally, I'd go clear - that top is so nice, and seeing more of it is no bad thing!

The white pearl is a nice contrast, and would probably be my second choice. Tort looks great but I can see some people thinking it's quite busy with the top - it's pretty complementary to my eyes, though.

Incidentally, I ordered a spare pickguard with my (currently being built) bass, and I would not have expected them to swap guards out and take photos of them all. That's a nice touch of customer service! I'm guessing they took all three because that top is so great, they wanted to have a record of how it looks with the different pickguards.

Chiming in to agree with your choices above, but also to say it's cool that they're taking photos with the protective film off the clear pickguard (at least with tops as great as this one) - it was still on mine last fall so waited til arrival to see the grain underneath.

I can see that only the clear guard was screwed in, so the others are just sitting on top of the clear, I think. It is great that they took photos of all 3. It doesn't make my decision any easier and proves to me why I ordered all 3 pickguards. Luckily, I can change them out when the mood strikes me!!

Ah yeah, was reading this on my phone - zooming in, it appears you're right. That's why I ordered the extra pickguard, too, nice to swap them depending on your mood!

Beautiful bass! I think all 3 look good. Question for you, when did you order yours? Just curious since mine should hopefully be done within the next few weeks.
