The pickguard is nothing special, it was the original flat black 1 ply black pickguard covered in 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber vinyl film. I have done this on quite a few pickguards and always liked the look. If you have one you want done send it my way.

Ha, that's a great idea to wrap it, I have a giant roll of 3M carbon fiber wrap laying around here from another project. :) I have the Noll TCM4 pre in my Frog and you're right it IS an amazing preamp, love the mid control as well and provides some really versatile and broad range of EQ'ing.

Playing less and less these days so I listed this beauty in the classifieds...these basses need to be played! I've had it all (Sadowsky, Lull, Fodera, FBass, MTD, Ken Smith, list goes on) and a Maruszczyk IMO is THE best bang for your buck. You get so much at a criminally discounted rate on a custom build! Anyhoot, would love someone who knows about these basses to take over and play the hell outta it! DM me for any questions, thanks!

I see that FEDEX has it now at the dispatch center in my area (Phoenix)...I am excited that after 4 months it SHOULD arrive tomorrow. There was a 1-2 week wait for back-ordered hipshot tuners in gold, so his original estimate of 13 weeks would have been close.

Just wanted to report back with a couple things!

Firstly, finally had a rehearsal with the full band and my gigging rig and the Maru sounded so so good. Rest of the band said they "Love the new sound" and that "It fits the songs so much better" and I think they're right!

Secondly, Fedex hit me with a 50 dollar invoice for customs duty on my ~1600 dollar instrument, all told not bad at all.

It DID arrive today and in perfect condition! Pictures will be posted a little later today.....I played it for hours and extremely happy with it. The only unknown at this moment is whether to change the strings. I ordered it with round wound nickel. Any opinions on the MARUSZCZYK strings?

I decided to keep my Maruszczyk strings on until they wear out. I'm happy with the tone. On a future build, I'll probably order several sets of strings to go with the bass.

I'm still undecided on the Maruszczyk nickel rounds that came with mine. I have a 32" 5 string so finding strings that fit is tough. Once I do a string change I'll judge it but they're good enough to where I've been lazy about changing them out. They certainly don't wow me to where I'll reach out to Adrian to buy more sets.
