Weight is just a shade over 9 pounds. (9.2) I ordered the Elwood-L (lightweight) but the fancy top adds some weight to it. For me this is very much in the "comfort zone" as many 5 string basses average 10+ pounds. Right out of the box it has crazy low action with NO fret buzz. I did order the reinforcement rods and the travel from Brussels/Poland to the Phoenix area did not even affect neck or the tuning.
I have not decided about the strings yet, either. There is a high-end "zing" that can be tamed with the eq but I wonder if the strings are contributing to that. The play-ability, however, is great. The bass also SOUNDS wonderful. I am rolling the pickup pan a little more towards the neck pickup for the sound I like. SO..whether to put on a different set of strings and be able to put the originals back on again???? These are the questions that keep bass players awake at night!!!
I made this cover video yesterday with my 30" Spalted Burl Maple Cazpar. I always liked the Bass line in this 1995 Dishwalla song

Just got the phone call to say my first Maruszczyk bass has arrived in the UK at Bass Direct, the dealer I ordered through.
It was quite a simple spec comparatively, but it was still only 51 days from placing my order to being in my dealer's hands - a day or two over 7 weeks. Much quicker than I expected, and thankfully in my hand in time for some upcoming gigs!
Will post pictures when I have it (haven't haven't seen the couch photo yet!).

Looking forward to seeing the pictures and your report.
There was a shipping mix-up with mine. I ended up getting a Miguel Di Carlo from FedEx International as opposed to my Maruszczyk. You can imagine my surprise. That bass was intended to go back to the builder for a repair. Instead, he received my Maruszczyk. So now the dealer is working to get my Maruszczyk to me. A bit frustrating, however, I'm hopeful that I'll also have my Maruszczyk soon.

I have a renewed interest in my Frog!
So all of my other bases have 16.5-17mm string spacing and that narrow spacing is just more comfortable for my playing style. I use all of my fingers on my right hand with a variety of techniques (my hand floats, I don't anchor my hand) and the wider spacing just doesn't work for me, it feels like I have to search/reach for the strings. With narrow spacing I can fly up and down the neck and rarely have to look at the fingerboard with most of my primary basses. However with my Frog, I love the bass but, it has never been as comfortable due to the wide spacing with that ETS 2-part bridge. I've adjusted it to the narrowest I could get the bridge but it was never tight enough.
Well that had changed today!
I can adjust the E-A-G saddles to the narrowest position and achieve 16.5-17mm but the B and G could not be adjusted in close enough due to the string notch placement on the saddles… until today!
I was looking at the bridge and came up with a crazy idea, what if I just flipped the B and G saddles over and moved the notch closer to the edge so I could achieve 16.5-17mm for those strings too?
Yep I can… and I did!
Intonation is dead on but there are some obvious trade offs such as the strings don't all align over the pickup poles, but the pickups are pretty hot and that doesn't seem to affect the sound in my testing so far. The B-G strings are not straight through the saddles, but this doesn't seem to be much of an issue so far… we'll see if this slight bend stresses those 2 strings over time.
Of course this little change is totally reversible and for me, the benefits outweigh the trade offs. I played the Frog in my studio today for a solid 2hrs and I love playing this bass once again!
I don't have to think about the finger board now, especially while singing (just like my other basses). The action is so low and clean, it is a pleasure to play… and that Noll preamp is wicked with those Delanos! The pre is incredibly sensitive, tiny fractional adjustments make a big difference, and it's easy to dial in any tone. I generally keep the pickups blended but rolling to the neck pickup gives that nice organic P tone as well.
Such a cool bass once again, it's going to band rehearsal this week for sure!

Good Job, like yourself I prefer the tight string spacing, but this appears to work!! I wouldn't worry about the poles over the strings, it's generally an aesthetic appeal, the pickup has a much wider field than the exposed poles.

I was thinking about maybe swapping the Delanos for Nordy blades (P/MM). Thoughts?
The big blades are working out well, very tight and articulate, huge departure from my standard humbuckers. They're single coils and have a huge sound. They have a rather high output that needs to be dialed in when mixing with other basses, but worth it. You can always reach out to Howard Ulyate for a custom set, I had some made for my P/MM and they were just perfect for that bass.

Received this set of new knobs for my Cazpar yesterday. Found then on Etsy. Cherry Wood with Spalted Maple/Maple caps. Nice and light and I think they match up well with the Cazpar 
How exactly does the Series//SC/Parallel switch work?
My second Maruszczyk arrived and I ordered it with this, but am not entirely sure on what setting is what. I have also been unable to find any diagrams or videos that explain it well.

For mine it's down down for series, middle for single coil and up for parallel.
Mine is wired the same… series and parallel use both coils. Series is a thicker sound and parallel and single seem to have a slightly lower output than series. I prefer the sound of series on mine (Delano MC 5 AL).
