The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

On my last build, not the current one in production, I went directly with Adrian. He is great...but I can totally understand that he is receiving a TON of email from all over the world. I can only imagine that he has VERY limited amount of time to answer each email and that can come off as being "short" or "rude". In addition, he is overseeing the luthiers, taking care of business orders and payments, shipping, recording demos and performing.
I chose to go through a dealer on my current build (Joker B 5 string hollowbody). The dealer I am using (Bass Spotlight, Randy Riley, has ordered so many of these and he is a bass player....so he can answer many of the questions and give good advice on what works and what is not possible. Also saved me a good amount of money!!
I found that having a dealer was really helpful not only for saving money, but for being a sounding board for ideas, and being a filter between my sometimes crazy ideas and Adrien.

I bought shipping via a handler with Fedex.
UPS collected, although no idea why.
So neither Fedex or UPS had the package in their
system and it was assumed lost or stolen.
Turned up 10 weeks later and I still do not know how.
So, they arent all bad. If you have a tracker number and the package is confirmed as in their system you are in a far better position than I was.
There is a difference between a paperwork 'scan' and a physical scan and if you have confirmed the latter, you have some recourse re insurance etc.

We were physically able to confirm UPS had the parcel at a local UPS depot but since they weren't paid to handle it, I dont know how they did so.

Anyone know what the multiscale lengths are for a Maruszczyk 4 string? Saw a 5er listed as 32.5"-35", which seems like something that could potentially work for me. Any knowledge of what models it's offered on? Think I've seen a Frog and an Elwood.

Don't want to bother Adrian with questions for something I'm in no position or hurry to order for a long time!

They've built some Jakes too. This one is available.

My 30" Jake showed up yesterday after 12 days in transit and it is better than expected :hyper:
Setup is literally perfect for me and it is really light at 6.8 lbs. I like everything about it. I would like to add a Nordstrand 2b preamp to it in the future. I didn't see an option to get the Nordy preamp and I should have asked Adrian or my dealer about it but it will be no big deal to add one later. The local Luthier can drill me a side jack hole and I can get the preamp direct from Nordstrand already pre-wired to my configuration.

Looks great. 6.8- is that a chambered L, or just a nice light piece of swamp ash?

Is the Jake a slab body? It almost looks like there are countours, but may just be the light reflection.
