I love watching "how it's made" videos and when it's Maruszczyk, incredible!
As a former Safety expert at a major utility I always cringe at the lack of basic safety gear used in many European countries (especially those that were former Soviet bloc).
But my favorite scene is this one:
Just because there is no way those posters exist in an American manufacturing facility, let alone slip into a major promotional video.

I have a bunch of them that I took off a few basses in order to upgrade them with Gotoh GB530's, and there are no markings or identifiers on them to tell. They're actually descent tuners, they are lighter by a few ounces (for a set) than the standard Gotoh tuners.
Wow, good eyes. I'm viewing from my phone so I had to watch closely and slow down to see what you were talking about
at first I was thinking 'what, I've been to the Gibson factory tour and they buff guitars the exact same way, how is that a safety hazard?'

Thanks for the info man, I appreciate it. I have a set of Schaller M4 90 tuners lying around and these are 40% lighter than the regular ones. And I was wondering whether it's worth the hassle make the switch.
I think those were soft-shell cases, so it wouldn't have mattered much if the cart had tipped. Nothing would have been broken.
It's a different mentality. I lived in Russia for a year. People there learn at a very early age to look out for themselves, whether it's a hole in the sidewalk or a guard rail with a piece of metal sticking out of it or a manhole with a stick sticking out of it instead of having a manhole cover. In America, we refer to such things as a lawsuit waiting to happen. There, there's nobody to sue, so just be careful.
For those of you that have the Maruszcyk Tone Former Preamp.....how are you getting along with it?
I have one in an Elwood 5 String with Delano Times Square Pickups, I thought it sounded fine (a little noisy). I recently installed a Nordstrand 3B in another Maruzczyk and was blown away by the clarity this preamp puts out.

I've got the Maruszczyk Toneformer 3MS/TPS with Delano MC5 FE humbuckers. I love it, it's dead quiet and gives me enormous control over the sound of my instrument. I usually just boost the mids a hair at 473hz. That being said I don't have a ton of experience with active pickups, although when I inevitably get another Maru I've go no reason to order a different preamp.
Thanks for the response, I just want to make sure I'm not replacing a preamp unneccassarily. Not that that will stop me....LOL
I have that same preamp on my Frog with Delano JC 4 HE/M2 pickups, and I love it! No noise issues whatsoever.

How are you guys finding Maruszczyk's current build quality? They seem to be putting out a lot of instruments at the moment, with a fairly quick turnaround.

Mine is great, no issues so far. Quite a basic build but very well put together, no issues that I've seen, and my tech was very impressed with it.
I've only had it a few months, and it's a solid colour bolt-on so shouldn't be difficult to get right, but I'm very impressed with it so far.
No complaints here whatsoever with my new bass that arrived a few weeks ago. Now I'm not a gigging musician who takes instruments out on the road. But what I've seen here so far is top notch.
Well, I only have one Maruszczyk instrument, and it was built last year, so I'm not sure if it's enough of a sample size or if it's recent enough to be considered current. But I have yet to find a flaw. It's gorgeous, the craftsmanship is excellent from what I can see, and I gig with it regularly. No corners cut with mine, except for the one I asked for (for easier high fret access).
Got my Cazpar last month and the build quality is excellent.
Yes, and it didn't cost me anything extra, since they already do the same thing on the Joker. (The entire cutaway isn't deeper, just the part that matters.)
