Hey wondering your thoughts on this. So the new bass came in and I'm a little disappointed how they would let this pass. Maybe it's the wood grain, but still a huge divot right on top to stare at. I emailed Adrian but of course nothing. Maybe I need to paint it. Not sure kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.

It looks like it is just part of the wood grain under the paint. With your Cazpar there is not much grain going on except on the very left side of your Cazpar around the forearm contour and horn. One of my Cazpars below had the same type of grain indents. More prominent on Alder and Ash bodies/tops. Especially with matte finishes. I like to feel the grain but it is more preferable if the grain is consistent and all over the body or top in this case.

Hey guys, quick question. It's still a long while until I can expect a sofa shot, but does the order status on the website ever change from 'ordered' to anything else? Is it radio silence until they're ready to ship?

I ordered mine through Randy Riley at The Bass Spot - super great guy and I would highly recommend him and the Bass Spot for any custom orders, but also any of the other high end basses he sells ( The Bass Spot ).

I got my couch photo, then about 3 weeks later I got an email with tracking. Mine came in yesterday! Ordered I believe on Black Friday. Overall, you placed an order and just be patient - as hard as it is; and just know it will get to you.

Glad it arrived safe and sound! It sounds like they're generally running behind these days. Mine is several weeks past the 20 week mark too with no estimated completion date unfortunately.

I had one take upwards of six months due to lack of parts from Nordstrand, but that was super unusual.

Well it would be nice if it had a grain like that but it doesn't maybe I'll sell it not sure yet. Plays nice.

Yeah you can totally feel it.

My first thought is that it would have been something that happened in transit to you, because there would be no way they'd send it to a customer; at least not without having a conversation with them first about it.

But no - it's there in the couch shot, clear as day. Obviously it's easier to see when you've got something to look for.

While looking at the couch shot with a more critical eye, I also noticed that the paint job on the upper horn is really quite shoddy too.

I wouldn't be happy with this getting passed so many eyes - QC team, Adrian's daughter during the couch shots, Adrian himself perhaps - and yet still being waved through as acceptable, without needing to say anything to the customer. That's disappointing.

I'd be seeking a replacement, or a sizeable partial refund, personally. It's not like they're the 'bargain bespoke' prices they once were - this is a €2400 instrument. There's much less room for them to wave away build issues with a "you get what you pay for".

I hope Adrian responds in the right way soon for you, Markku.

Thanks man it does a leave a bad taste in your mouth. He could have said it might be best to paint the body because the wood didn't come out so great which would have been fine. I've bought 2 other this being the 3rd one from them.

I've always been curious how the white flamed maple would turn out, you'll have to post some pics when it arrives. Did you get gloss or matte finish?

That's not a ding, it is in the grain of the wood, you can clearly see that the grain is softer there and they likely didn't think it would show when finished but the black accentuates the low spot. They could have kept sanding but it would have been a low spot, they probably should have used grain filler to level it up before finishing.

Yes it's the grain that's why they should have suggested it to be painted which would have been fine. I'll try to as Adrian if I least can get the decal for the headstock if I end up painting

For example, there are loads of videos about cazpers and jokers, and a few for preachers and pikes. But from what I can tell, there are zero Buzzaro, Eagle, or Leaf presentations.

With the high volume of instruments that they produce, it seems odd that they wouldn't have a single video about those models.

I was interested in a Leaf at one time but as you said, I could not find any videos about it at the time I was considering ordering one.. I could find pics online but no review videos or presentation videos from the Public Peace youtube channel. Curious also about that cause I know they have made many Leaf's.

Mensinger is an Independant company. Perhaps Adrian only agreed to market certain models for them? That said, Buzzaro and Eagle are the only models which never appeared in the Public Peace online store. Maybe less in demand?

After many years of owning a Maruszczyk (or 2, or 3...) I decided I should probably "join the club"! Are membership numbers still being given out?

It all started on a whim a few years ago when I saw a used Frog Beta on Reverb. I loved the looks and always wanted to try one, and I fell in love. Later came a purple Elwood that a dealer had in stock. I drove to his house and tried it out, and was sold. I also ended up buying a Mensinger Joker that I recently parted with. I used this dealer for my first custom build, which was a Paddock, and he helped me with getting a couple from the instock section of the website as well, which are my Jake and Elwood PJ. Finally, my second custom order was my golden Frog, and my third was my Elwood in red flake finish.

Top row then bottom row, left to right:

• Elwood L5A-24: Delano HE/M2 pickups, Maruszyck Toneformer 3 band preamp, alder body with flame maple neck and Indian rosewood board
