Why'd you get rid of a Frog in the first place?

Looking the join the club soon. I have a custom Paddock 6A in the works. Still trying to finalize what fingerboard wood and pickups to go with. I at a tie between flame maple or white ebony ( anybody have experience with white ebony/palemoon?). And pickups is either Delano extender or Haeussel Humbckers. I have tried neither so I am hoping to get some advice.
My vote would be Delano. I've had both brands in Maruszczyk basses and prefer the sound of the Delano's. They are super quiet too. Both are great though. Just felt the Delano had a great modern bite to them.

I didn't really care for the wood combo on the first one I had. My new one is Ash which I prefer over mahogany. I didn't really care for the Rosewood fingerboard either. My new one will have Bass culture pickups and Delano preamp.
Well, my Elwood PJ is in the works too, thanks to you. Ordered last week. Hope to have by March (my Bday).
And if she'll be as stunning as she looks right now, Oh Boy, I'll be in trouble.

My frog will have an alder body, as I want to have an opaque matte black finish, so the weight would be lighter compared to ash. The neck and fingerboard will be birdseye maple, I simply love the structure of it. My only regret, though, is that I asked beforehand about a roast of the wood, and they can "only" offer the very dark roast, which is good, but I don't like it that much. I totally love this honey/caramel roast color from the music man basses, in case you have seen some of their roasted birdseye maple necks.
I was told they can't do it that way, and also slightly coloring the neck so it gets that look wasn't answered. A couple of weeks later I found a Facebook post from them for another custom bass which had exactly what I wanted....what a bummer.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to see how these Delano Xtender pickups will be.
I also have a PJ in order. It will be a blue one with nitro burst finish. It’s a 33 inch and I have the Aguilar AG 5J-HC jazz pickup and a Aguilar AG 5P-60 precision pickup. Mine is also pretty standard. I hope I’ll get it in December!!!!

That is amazing. This is what my final build will look like. I am going with a custom paddock but had to spec out a frog since the paddock is not available in the custom site yet.

Yeah I almost ordered it (again with Delanos) then went with the red one. Thought red is hotter color than blue and therefore will be more attractive to play.
maybe the next one, who knows....

Here it is. Ash body, painted maple neck, padouk fingerboard and pickup covers. Delano three band and Bassculture pickups. I really like the monorail bridge. Especially when it blends into the body like it's out of the way. Headstock logo matches the fingerboard and pickups completing the look. The ash grain is really incredible to look at and feel in its uncoated matte state. You can really feel the grain.

It sounds fantastic. I love Delano preamps and the Bassculture pickups just feel alive. Very responsive combination. I'm digging the front pickup in series and the bridge pickup in single coil. Like a big juicy P/J style. It cops more vintage tones to modern sounds with just a few flips of switches. These are really fantastic basses. It is my second Frog and doesn't disappoint.

There is very little info out there on the different Bassculture pickups...their website is sparse to say the least. Did Maruszczck give you info on what was available...or did they just recommend them? Did they tell you any info on how they would be different from the Haussel or Delano offerings?And this is the sound.

I have a Sandberg with the same uncoated matte finish on an ash body and I’ve never seen an aged one. I’m very curious how my bass would look like in 15 years! Has anyone here seen an aged one and has a picture of it??
