no biggy...i was under the assumption that metro basses were full sized, especially having owned one for a short time...then again, i didn't get the measuring tape out on that one, either...it felt cumbersome, so i got rid of it...then again, it could just be the geometry...it isn't the first time i've bought a bass that i didn't completely dig...really no big deal :D for the record, though, it sounds amazing

On the Sadowsky comparison regarding Metros being full sized vs NYC's being smaller, I think the full sized body is only on the UV. For the V/S/M basses, I believe those are all smaller, so your MS5 should have been the undersized body.

From the Sadowsky page:

"The Ultra-Vintage '70s Metro features a full-size body..."

"Our Vintage Series Metro features a slightly undersized J-Bass body..."

They don't say anything specific about the Standard and Moderns, but those all fall under the Vintage, so I believe those are all the undersized bodies.

yeah, but i hear ir from most people that i know :D including her :D

the whole metro size comparison is all fine and well, but it really doesn't change anything...i may put this bass on the block anyway and go with something that i know feels good to me like another zon or a spector or something, who knows what next...i bought it on a couple of assumptions and expectations and it seemed good at the time and on paper, so i went with it...i don't regret it or blame anyone, i just don't think it's for me...nothing wrong with that...god, it sounds so hot, though :D

No worries man, try being in college, where brain cells are under review and being demoted to mear specs.

Anyhoo, yeah man, you seem pretty cool with it. Live and learn I guess.

Well at least you have a nice healthy attitude towards the whole thing all said and done. Nobody can give you a hard time about that. :)

Neptoon, if you dislike the size that much, you should contact Mike Tobias or your dealer, and they might take it back. You have only had it a week or so, and you waited almost a year and a half for it. I would not wait however. Just a thought.

+1, Maybe even Mike would offer to help in some way. Did I tell you the story of Mike taking back my original 535 because I wasn't happy? Functionally or cosmetically there wasn't anything wrong with it. He built me a completely new 535 to whatever specs I wanted, put it in the top of the queue, for zero charge.

I have played MTDs that have them, and while some were more noticeable than others, none of them were really bad, and none of the ones I've owned have had any worth mentioning.

You have one? If so, which model, what woods, where's the dead spot, etc.
