The Official MTD USA Thread

Ok, here she is folks, and I know this might sound silly, but Mike TOTALLY KNOCKED THIS SUCKER OUT OF THE F'N PARK!!!!!

I haven't had much time to spend on it, 'cause I have to work today, but I can not find any dull/dead spots on it anywhere, and get this... it's only 8.4 pounds!!!!! YES!!!!!

Also, if you think the pics look good... folks, they do NOT do it justice... seriously... I tried to capture the "sheen" it has, especially in that last pic, but really couldn't. This thing sounds a f'n mazing... even amongst MTD's. Mike told me it was a "special" one... one "he'd buy", and I believe him! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Anyway, onward! ... :)

This pic is pretty especially crappy, but I posted it anyway... I'll post a better one later... it really looks cool in the case, too. :)

Vic, I humbly and respectfully call dibs on this if you ever decide to sell it. Does that work for you? :D

EDIT> Damn, I see Tom B already beat me to it, huh? :D

Seriously though Vic, that bass simply made my jaw drop. It looks truly remarkable in every way. If Tom ever passes on this bass if you actually decided to sell it, and I don't see either event I just mentioned happening, I would sell my first born son to buy it. :D

It doesn't matter, anyway. I just got off the phone with Vic, and I may have to bring a crow bar to his wake (may that day not come for a long, long time, of course!). :D

Tom.
Yep.... I was just about to post something to this effect. :) I love all my MTDs, but amongst them, this one is particularly "my bass". It's the right weight, the right sound, the right look, it is firing on ALL cylinders to the n'th degree, and I don't say that lightly. :)

That looks killer ash neck?
yup. :)

Somewhat recently (like as of last year, maybe slightly before), Mike has become a big fan of ash necks with maple boards. Long story short, the ash/maple neck gets me the tone I've tried a couple times to get from the wenge/wenge combo and a couple body wood combos, but just couldn't do it.
