The Official MTD USA Thread

Changed strings on the Super 5 tonight and cleaned the fretboard along the way. Can't say enough about how great this bass is.

Hah...thanks... I couldn't get all of that from those pictures... ;)
I saw the back of it on Instagram and noticed then ;) I got that option on my custom 535 - which by the way will be the subject of Jim Roberts' Partners column next month in Bass Magazine! - and I freakin' love it. Even cooler, the truss rod and bridge wrenches live onboard underneath the truss rod cover.

Oh! I didn't realize they'd be under there. That's just another big bonus!

Do you know what it weighs? I want to consider a 6 string MTD, but I'm afraid of what it might come in at. I love my 534, but it is just to heavy for me personally to use for long sets.

I'll try to get a weight on it this weekend when it arrives. I have another very 'meat & potatoes' 635-24 that is probably the lightest bass I own, and that's saying a lot. It's an ash body, and I'm not sure how much heavier the poplar is over that. That maple cap should add a small amount, too.
