That was my line of thought for a Pedulla Pentabuzz and a Fodera Emperor 5 fretless. Neither of which stayed long. Ain’t no way I’m forkin out that much cash on an unknown instrument again… but I’d be willing to bet you’re right lol

Yep. As much as I love MTDs not every one makes the cut. Same as with any other top-tier bass brand. Sometimes the magic is there and sometimes it isn't (the fact that what constitutes "the magic" varies from player to player only complicates things further ).

If you look on the MTD fb/instagram, there’s a few fades with similar colors, and probably some bursts too…

That’s what I’m afraid of lol. Buying an unknown. Worked out for my Music Man and Fodera YY5S, but 2 for 4? Not quite ready for that leap again. Or at least, that’s what my wife says

You can’t go wrong with#1 or #2 IMO. Very difficult decision, both are spectacular if it was me I would go with#2.

Anyone have a headless MTD? I suppose H35D24?? Maybe? Or something similar?

I want another MTD, but not really interested in another 535-24. Although, it wouldn’t break my heart. Curious about the headless in terms of tone, ergonomics, playability etc…

That’s a really good looking bass, you made some excellent choices there (including the knobs - for the record, I ordered the matching wooden knobs on my 535-24).

I bought my first MTD, Modulus, Elrick, Fodera, Skjold, and Alpher all never having touched one.

Nice. But I’d rather stay on good terms with my wife than chance losing money on selling a bass that I don’t like… again.

ETA may/June. I'm not sure where it's at but definitely too late I would want a different top with the fade.

I'm beyond excited for what I have coming though, no regrets just thinking for the next one I'll do a fade.

I ordered a hard case from MTD for my recent 535-24. The gig bag is a nice gig bag… not my thing. The case, while heavy, I think is the nicest case I’ve ever seen. Like, I almost hate to take it out of the house!!

But… I will. Soon.

I was thinking about getting a case as well. I'll use the bag more but if it's ever not directly in my hands for travel I want it in a case.

I don’t like wood knobs at all. If I bought a bass that came with wood knobs, I would replace them.

These are the knobs on my MTD Super 5. These are fine and I will be leaving it as is.

I do have a question about the bass. I have a 535-25 that I love in so many ways. It had the Barts in the typical location. So, how would you say, or others, this pickup position changes or augments the bass?

Still trying to get my head around some of the different configurations. Some are clear, others not so much.
