After reading this, I got pretty psyched about this combo. I have found, however, that the NV-215 which sounds glorious while standing in front of it, does not project on to the dance floor, nor does it have as good of dispersion as a pair of Aguilar GS112s. Also, to remedy the scooped nature of the Aggys, I swapped out the top cab's driver with a Deltalite II 2512. This setup sounds amazing wherever I walk in the room. I wanted to favor the Berg "just because" but the Aguilars win!
I've owned my Reeves 225 for several years (maybe 8?, don't remember exactly when I bought it) and have played through a lot of cabinets with it. For me it has sounded best with a Bergantino AE410. The AE410 has a bit of a "hard" midrange that the Reeves softens a bit, making a really great sounding pair.
The problem is the amp dwarfs most all two speaker cabs like my Super Twin. 
I'm actually relieved to read your post about projection with the NV215. I think I have just put together a trade for a Custom 225, Hopefully I'll have it in the next few weeks. I plan to run mine with 2 x NV115 cabs. We generally play with full PA support, so if I project too far, I am fighting with the subs. Having good volume where I am and not pushing too far out in front of the stage would be perfect.

Man this thread makes me miss my Reeves. I sold it to fund some schooling last year, and I really didn't need an amp that size anymore, but man. What a sound, I miss it.
Actually perhaps some of you guys can help out - are there any more affordable options out there for this kind of tone? I don't need a lot of wattage, even 50 watts would be enough for me I think with an efficient cabinet, as all my gigs have plenty of PA support. I hear that Sound City amps can be a good solution, any others I am missing?

It's not a rig that I'd want to be carting around to gigs (I'm 62 years old!), but it's perfect for me. I NEVER tire of how good it makes me sound. Except for the premature failure of one of the output tubes, it has performed flawlessly since Reeves built it for me about five years ago. The MAS cabs it is sitting on are mind-bogglingly good. They let you hear and feel what you're playing like no others that I've experienced. 
Took a road trip Saturday and met my first, in person TB’er, ebulakowski. He was gracious enough to meet me halfway between Oklahoma and Indiana to deliver a Reeves Custom 400. Great guy, easy transaction!
Now that the amp is safely home, my mind is filled with ideas for an appropriate cab. Sounds great with everything I’ve tried so far.

I gigged my 3rd last night with the C225. I told my drummer that it was around a 250Watt amd and he was astounded! Ch1 at 9:30, Bright at 11:00, All tone at 12. Presence at 2 and MV at 9:30. We play a modest volume, Allman Bros, Steely, 60's, 70's. I can't even imagine how loud the 400 is.!!!

I have a Custom 225 coming to me in the next few weeks. A mate of mine picked it up for me and is currently with him interstate. Been doing lots of reading on here, and can't wait to get hold of it.
I have mainly been gigging a Fender Super Bassman with either a 410 or 610 for the last few years. Really looking forward to comparing the 2. I reckon I will mainly be playing the the 225 thru 2 Berg NV115s.
On another note, can anyone tell me me where I can buy the Handles the same as the 400? The one I have coming has the single handle and I want to add the to handles for ease of lifting onto my cabs.

Haven't thought of that. I have used both channels, daisychained, on a Fender, but it has parallel inputs for both channels, making it easy. What sort of differences do you see with a "Y" cord on your 225?
I imagine Reeves would sell you them- (one) if you relocate yours.

Now, I got the itch. I am using it with a pair of Aggy GS 112s (top one with DL II 2512) and VERY satisfied with the results/sound. I am obsessing on the Reeves cabs though. Waddya think? I know I don't want to shell out for the 410. Will the 115 Reeves make me as happy as 2 x 112s?
I've sent them an email. I actually want 2 of the Custom 400 ones, and leave the original handle where it is. Both positions have their merits.

Holy crap! That is just sick! Are those Bodai 10s?
I used to push a pair of Flex 110's and didn't think it could get any better, but the Bodai (yes, they are 10's) take it to another level. Having the tweeter fire back into the mid chamber keeps your highs from beaming and drilling your ear if you are on-axis. They're wonderful to play with - they surround you with a gorgeous envelope of bass tones. I have a Mullard in V1 in my Reeves, and these really let you hear what a sweet, musical high-end it brings...
