The Official Rumblekat Club

That was actually my next question, but I was trying to search back through the forum (I only recently joined) before asking a question that I’m sure has already been discussed several times! As I mentioned before, I broke my left wrist in a really bad spot years ago, doctor said back then I’d be dealing with arthritis a lot down the road, and I do get A LOT of pain with extended playing. So the whole point of this bass is to hopefully extend my bass playing life. I’ve never played flatwounds and have been intrigued by what I’m reading about low tension flatwounds. Sounds like it would be perfect for my issue, but worried the tone might not be versatile enough to play all types of music.

I wish I could help more on that but I mainly play old-school blues, and soul...so flats on this bass are exactly what works for me.
That said, a good eq on your amp will get you most tones anyway.

No man, thanks for your input, so glad I found TalkBass a few days ago! Outside of my normal playing I play in my worship band at church and am confined to the house amp. I’ve been

Made the purchase today, now that it is in hand I’m feeling pretty good about the $200.

My jazz bass is currently in the shop for a setup, this is going to be a project bass for me. Been pulling tips off the forum to get tools and work my way through setting this up myself. Still going back and forth on string choice, and hoping to eventually score a deal on a hip shot bridge.

I'm sorry to say that I traded mine off a few years ago. This is the only pic I have left....my two "semi-hollowbodies" at the time. I was all set to start looking for another one, then I saw a pic of the new 20th Anniversary Jack Casady in the same color, so I'm gonna have to snag THAT one first!

I have the same bridge on my Rumblekat but in black. I also replaced the tuners with Gotoh GB350 Res-O-Lites and replaced the knobs with black mini chickenheads.

Do you all (ya'll) know, original Rumblekat was much darker color?

Mine is an early one. I didn't know that.
