This topic is called "Show your basses", not "disguize your bass as a couch and make fellow TB-ers try to discover it"...

;)

:p

I didn't consider you a satanist therefore and i also remarked the rather ironic sense of your post... but still, some folks could feel offended for that so i just wanted to state my 50 cents, no rush! ;-)

Nice ray, btw... (tell us more about)

Good, I'm glad that we're all friends again :smug:.

As for the bass, it was something that I put together about 5 years ago, using a new EBMM StingRay as the starting point and then fitting a Status graphite neck and a Delano quad-coil pickup. It looked good on paper (and the finished article looked good, I thought), but I'm afraid to say that the graphite really killed the tone for me and made the bass sound rather too 'harsh' and 'brittle' :hmm:.

I later fitted that neck to a 'home made' Jazz Bass and added some Nordstrand 'Vintage' pickups. That was a more successful marriage and I used that bass a lot, until I got my hands on my first (vintage) Tokai 'Jazz Sound' (pre-CBS Jazz bass clone) and then I gave up with graphite altogether and went back to wood :).

At first sight i thought it a MM Cutlass, i played one when they came out (end '70s i guess), i liked it very much but couldn't afford me one... now i'm into an other graphite axe, best sounding bass i ever had! ;)

:) Mmmmm, I'd love to get my hands on one of those for a day :bassist:. So many good things are written about them, but I've never even seen one up close.

You're right though - they're getting seriously expensive now :hmm:. If you still have yours, I'd keep it in a very safe place :D.

Well, a safe place wouldn't let her be a player, i wanna gig with as much as it gets and she's certainly an absolute keeper!

Maybe this one (or are you into 5ers too?):
