When it arrived, in April.

Had a few cheap basses in the past, then over the last year I realised this is what I do. Will need a few of these, in time... versatile, many voices, sure tone, volume. GHS DYB Boomers, .130 on the B.

Very nice. Do you know if he does anything for the 55-64 Skylines? I'm not in love with my standard white guard, I have a maple neck and I was thinking about getting a simpler gold anodized, kind if like the 57 P, but for a 5 string Lakland.

Mike will do whatever you want. He also did my DJ5 guard, I just mailed him a tracing of my guard.

Instead of having a visual show of the great- and not so great- basses everyone owns...how bout uploading youtube links of everyone "playing their bass" that way its not all about the talk the talk...but also about the walk the walk....just a thought...[/QUOT

This thread is called "Show your basses"... that's exactly what we do, show our basses. If this thread went under the name "show us how you play your bass" it would be a different story, and that's what you would see here. There are other threads with videos of members playing their basses, that's where that kind of content belongs. Look for such threads, or create one where you can show us all how you "walk the walk". Cheers.

+1!

That{s really cool!
For some reason I think of "the missing link between electric and upright" when I see that.

that was well put ... I play it like an upright, pulling the strings with the side of my indexfinger. The sound is quite different from playing with your fingertips - no sharp attack, just a soft 'thud' as the string slides from under your finger, followed by a long hummm. I imagine it has been built with that in mind as the strings are real far apart.

Tell us more about the elrick! ^^

it's not an Elrick btw, but I take it as a compliment :D
it was a Cort RB5 mad in korea, but I upgraded it with a pair of Bartolini MK5CBC pickups, and an ACG EQ02 preamps (the photo still use BArtolini NTMB918 preamps)
I also add a coil switch for the pickups, a mid selector (for the barto)
I swapped all tuners with hipshot USA tuner (originally hipshot licensed tuner)
I replace the nuts with Graptech Tusq XL, the knobs was ex MTD bass, the ramp made from Ebony

I always assumed d-tuners dpn't work with whammy bars, Have i missed something?
it works, I was assumed that it didn't work well at first, but I give it a try after I saw Brad Russell use detuner with kahler and he can hold the tune pretty well..

btw, I just add the newest member on my arsenal last night
NBD thread Fender ADPV

here's a sneak peek

I didn't start this thread, I just continued it. And, there are already threads on that in this and other forums. This thread is called "Show your basses"...if you don't like looking at basses, I don't know what to say...
