It's interesting that the pu's don't have covers. My Grass Roots/ESP Bass IV has a similar thing going on. The only problem is that you have to remove the pg to adjust the pu height. A bit of aesthetics over function. It's ok because once adjusted, you're not likely to need re-adjustment.
Huh... I don't think I could finger-press that hard!The name of the game there is No touchy. Like a single coil p if you thumb rest too hard you could pull it apart.

I scored this Mockingbird off Marketplace cheap. I am not super familiar with these , from my understanding it’s a 1984 NJ Series Mockingbird. As you can see the condition left a lot to be desired but I made a YouTube video cleaning it up , check it out.
