Well, just my Fenders for this post. From left to right, in the order I got 'em.......

1983 (Fullerton Era) 62 RI Jazz (yes, I changed the controls) purchased used in '88 for $400.00
1978 Precision Fretless, mostly but not all original, as is often the case with the 70's Fenders, purchased from GC in 2013 for $800.00
2010 or so "Fender 54 style" bass, made for some guy out of Fender parts, purchased July 2025 for $700.00

It's kinda funny to me that my most valuable bass I paid the least for.

Funny how most Fenders are, ehr, almost too expensive for most Europeans, unless you can get a good deal 2nd hand.

New bass day! Fender MIJ Hybrid II. I don’t know why Fender Japan always gets the best stuff! The Hybrid series blends modern specs with vintage looks.

Alder body, C-shape neck, 9.5” radius, rosewood fretboard, and a beautiful 3-tone sunburst finish.

I haven’t played a Jazz Bass in 20 years since I was in my Matt Sharp phase, but this one really spoke to me.

The neck feels so slim compared to my trusty P-bass. The previous owner took great care of it because it basically looks new aside from some belt rash on the neck plate and some haze on the tuners.

I’ll always be a P-bass guy, but it’s fun to be able to change it up.

Those builds were one of the first things that got me hooked on TB. Pretty incredible pieces of walnut, some of the coolest figuring I've ever seen

I’ve had the DJ Sonic since 2008 and will never part with it. The neck is perfect and love the tone, playability, & aesthetic. It just gets a little heavy on 3-4 hour gigs.

That’s impressive, I hope to be getting one one day, I really want a five but a four will suffice. Like I said I’ve never played one but knowing this is great. Did the upgrade do everything you wanted it to do?

Yessir, I played it a little last night and fell in love, we are going to set everything up today and it will only get better. I also played a Spector NS pulse 5 string they had and it was awesome as well BUT I like the the clarity of the studio over the Spector however the lows on the Spector outshined the studio. Both have EMG’s but the suffix letters are different and it definitely sounded better in the lows but mids and highs the studio sounded better. The schecter FELT better for me. I was going to wait a bit but seeing yours motivated me. Haha

I can see that, I took it to church today and played it, had the bass tone way up and the mid and treble just cracked, it’s definitely aggressive, I use my Ashdown studio 15 at church, also had to scale that back as well.

Definitely use the neck pick up soloed for that gig. That will help smooth it out.
