Fender made an Ash body for their early blonde early 60's basses. The actual serial number of this bass puts it as 64 and the pots and pickups put it at 64 but the neck puts it around 68. That is why I said 68. It is a refin. Up for sale if you are interested...

Now that you reminded me, I knew there were a few ash/blond J's in the 60's but more the exception until the 70's. Sounds like a nice bass!

Dear lord. What a gorgeous, sweet gathering of instruments. One of the nicest I can recall seeing.

The duo of T-40s is supercool, and I've had GAS for one of those Guilds forever. Used to see them pretty often, but that was many years back. Fine basses and near the top of my "Please Reissue These, Please" list.

Here are mine. An Aria Pro II IGB-805 that has been with me since 93, which makes it a true vintage bass, and a Yamaha BB 1024x.

Sharing pics of the new Finnish Guitar works custom-ordered Precision. Ash & maple. Van Zandt pickups, strung with Pyramid Gold flats. The neck feels perfect, I need to take it to practice to see if this becomes my new "go to" bass. It only took 16,5 months from commission to delivery.

Love my '93 A/S J - not new but new strings and into it deep again! Fender made some great basses in the early 90's.
