Here's my lot, all of them self made.
From left to right:
- The Goblin, own design body, Ibanez Neck, sounds really raspy and growly.
- The Tribute to my father. I made this using the design of a toy instrument he made for me when I was a child as a base for its design, it was a present for his 70'th birthday. He was really touched when I presented it to him. He has since passed away and I got it back but to be honest I don't really play it that much because of the next two basses on my list covering all ground.
- My Musicman re-think. This one came about when at Knooren we decided to make a couple of Musicman inspired basses. I made mine with the classic set up but with a mahogany body which results in a fatter sound than the ash bodied Musicmans every body is familiar with, whenever I have to play a gig as a bass player (My number one instrument still remains the guitar) this is the one I'll always take with me.
- My Knooren Custom five string. This one came to be when I wanted to make a five string version of my Aria SB-1000. It has a custom harry Haussel pickup with Noll pre-amp and it became my main studio bass straight away. I tried using it live but decided that I should keep it indoors.
- This one is basically a guitar with all the frets pulled out and bass strings fitted. It was the lower half of a double neck but I found myself playing that bass neck more often than the upper neck, so I pulled the double neck apart and put the necks on separate bodies. This is my lazy chair bass but it's equally fun to record with.

Dude luv the P bass, that's the exact color scheme I want for one myself. And that G&L is rad! An L-1000 w/ a Status neck? How did you get a Status neck w/ 3 bolt holes? That thing must ROCK!
I got it from GC used gear. The statuses come undrilled.

pretty cool wood-grain/finish - can't go wrong with an L-2000
I wish I would have tried the L-2000 much much sooner than I did.

It's often quoted as being the "Swiss Army knife" of (electric) basses... and I'll agree. I have many very different basses, all really great basses - but if I needed to grab only one for a make-it-or-break-it situation - I would have no doubt that an L-2000 would do the job.
It's custom modded - but the sound is pure G&L L-2000
