I remember series 10 being sold by small shops who couldn't get the big name brands. They were probably distributed by a St. Louis music or Kaman or similar company back in the day (late 80s? Early 90s?). I remembered them being ok for what they were. That price seems too high to me though, I don't think I'd pay more than $100, just my 2 cents...

That's pretty much the market they were aimed at. The humbucker / P-pickup configuration is kinda cool, I don't suppose that GC is close enough for you to test drive it? If your looking for a player and not considering selling it in the future you might take the chance, you will have 45 day to return it. You could stalk it for 90 days and see if they drop the price. To bad they won't haggle anymore.
