Dunno about the Affinity line... The Squires seem to be a pretty good jumping off point for customization. I've been playing a Squire Jazz in the Music & Arts every week while my daughter is in piano class... while I've been trying to devote myself to making my own instruments, this one just needs better electronics and a neck refinish (Tru Oil)...

I recently purchased this Ibanez GSR206 from my local Guitar Center after wanting to try out a six-string bass for a while. I played around with it in the store and found it to be much less difficult to play than I assumed a 6-string would be. I was also impressed by the flat walnut finish and it's overall quality build for a budget instrument.
Have to say I’m not a huge fan of the Phat II EQ. It's not terrible but I’m already thinking about replacing it with an Audere preamp sometime since I like the rest of the bass so much and I've been wanting to try one of those anyway.
I picked the poo strap because some of my third-grade students last year were always drawing different versions of the poop emoji for each other and the strap reminded me of that class. Also the brown matches the bass well.

I’d never had a guitar with a ‘name’ before.
A friend, knowing the fact that Felix Papillardi was about the main reason that 18 year old me bought it...and that I spend an inordinate amount of time with my focus on The Beautiful Game Of Baseball, named it ‘Big Papi’, and the name stuck.

Still learning some of the terminology here... whats the difference between MIJ and CIJ? I know "Made in Japan" is CIJ = "Constructed in Japan" or am I way off bass? ("off bass?" get it!?!?!?!?)
