This one arrived at my doorstep last weekend.

F(ake)ender Jazz Bass V lefty, Fender or Squier don't make them so a Chinese fake will have to do.

And the Same bass a couple of days later after having done some work on it.

Aligned the tuners and neck pickup, done a proper shielding and grounding job and made a new pickguard.

There are some sweet basses in this thread!! Here is a pic of my 2013 Squire P-Bass in front of my bass rig. The amp is a 100 watt Behringer and the cab's are re-purposed p.a. cabs with the horns removed and 15" Black Widow's installed. They thump pretty good. Also, I've owned a few really nice basses over the years and I gotta say, I was really impressed by the Squire. Especially for the price! I've only had it since last September but I play it every day and so far it's been very reliable. Not only does it sound good but it play's and feel's just as good as it's way more expensive Fender counterpart! The only mod I did was, I wrapped the pick guard in some vinyl I had laying around from another project. The reason I wrapped the p.g. was there was a major discoloration spot after I removed the protective plastic with the Squire sticker.

That is a fine looking Fender JP you have there UX4484. I've never saw a pick guard shaped like that. Really works well.

Thanks, I got it new in '92 for $295! It's kind of the red-headed stepchild of made in USA Fenders, the Areodyne picked up and refined some of it's features (but not the guard).

Fender Jazz Bass ('77/78 I think. Bought used in '85) - Badass 2 bridge, Fender straplocks, new pickguard

I want to replace the pickguards on the P bass and Jazz bass for three ply black-white-black at some point when I have the dosh.

Here's a new one for me. I had the Blacktop and found it too heavy for me. This one is nice, light and well put together.

Fit and finish were great. A little set up work and it plays and sounds fantastic! I wasn't sure I'd be happy with another Squier, (had a VM Jazz, maple body which also weighed a ton) but I lucked out as this one is really nice. Neck, frets, body, electronics all seem decent. And really liking the Black on Black!

I'm surprised those JP-90's never took off. I don't know why they say it looks dated in the link.

I think it looks Braw as we say in Scotland.
