I'm surprised those JP-90's never took off. I don't know why they say it looks dated in the link.

I think it looks Braw as we say in Scotland.

Fender's dig at late 80's early 90's design... By "dated" I'm sure is a dig at Kramer or Charvel from that era, and "We didn't mean to do that".

Only real drawback of the bass is the pickguard: single ply, VERY thin, with the jack mounted on it. You often find them used with a crack in the guard at the jack and a couple extra screws holding the guard down.
My J pup went microphonic, it's been replaced with a Wilkinson. I'll get around to repotting the original some day.

Can't say I've ever heard the term braw... must be a local dialect thing! JP90s look awesome though, I really wish I could try one.

There are some really cool basses on here! Think I might throw my hat into the ring.

I've owned a lot of 'fancy' basses but I'm finding I prefer the bare bones approach at the moment (obviously I'm a big Fender fan haha).

I can't post photos though!!!!!!

So here at the moment I'm playing:
- 1983 Fender Precision Elite II (flatwounds)
- 1989 Fender Jazz MIJ (non-export)
- 1972 Fender Tele Bass
- TMG Custom w/ Duncan QPs
- 1975(?) Fernandes Power Bass (with a Big Muff I put in it haha)

Very keen to add a few too, I'll let you know just incase you know anyone
Modulus Bassstar (Early 80'S neck - to build a black version of the white jazz)
Fender Mustang (Early 70'S USA, prefer Walnut, original, any condition)
Fender Telecaster Bass (Early 70'S USA to sideline the other '72 [share the load] original, any condition)
Gibson Grabber ('75, natural finish, ashtray, original, any condition)

That is unbearably awesome. When you're not playing bass do you allow the navy to land F-18s on that fret board? Damn, what's the string spacing on that?

@IvanMunoz I brought it back from Japan in about 2006, and apparently it had been sitting there since 1989 ha. From what I could find out, and from what I've been told it was a non-export model that was custom made (perhaps for a customer)..
I still have all the original bits - I've added the Leo Quan and hipshot.. Apart from that it's factory everything.

It really turns heads, and it's a really smooth bass - the poly neck is a bit odd though but I've had it for 8 years so I'm pretty well used to it!

If you ever see or hear of another one I'd love to know - I've been told guys at Fender have never seen anything like it; but I can't claim anything besides the year and factory because I can't find any info on it!!!
