Wow. They look bigger in the picture. I know another TBer suggested you build for others (and I agree) but I also know the feeling of doing what you want, for you.
My two main basses...an 09 AmStd Precision and a mongrel 76 Precision that's been through more reinventions than Madonna. Just put EMG Geezer Butler P and PJ pickups on both and they are killing machines now.
My 95 P Lyte with EMG active PJ's and a BQC preamp and my Realistic violin bass from the late 60's, which will not be getting an EMG transplant
My 09 Danelectro Dead-On Longhorn. A very pleasant surprise. Built very cheap but has a rock solid neck, stays in tune well, and has made many trips as checked baggage on airlines.
And of course, if I ever get a call where they want an active neck-through 5-string or 4-string with a Kahler whammy, I'm covered:
Both made by a company in Orlando called the Guitar Factory. EMG PJ's on both with a BQC on the 4 and BTS on the 5 (though I probably will put a BQC in it before long), Kahler bridges, and Sperzels on the 4. BTW, those Sperzels are the best tuners I ever used. Wish they made a Fender sized tuner.
Upton Hawkes upright from 2005 with a Clef Revolution Solo II pickup. Best plywood upright I have ever played, bar none.
I thought for years of getting a vibrato for a bass, but opted for de-tuning to A or even F# and using my fretless to mess with the crowd.

Picked up this little bad-ass yesterday with plans to rotate this and my other 4-banger with my thrash metal band. It's an 80's model MIJ Ibanez. Other than that, I don't know much about it but this thing has been hot-rodded quite a bit - EMG Pups, Bad-Ass Bridge, the neck has already been shimmed, and it used to have a Hipshot D-Tuner on it but all that's left is the mounting plate and an extra long tuning peg for the E string. But the action is nice, the pups are GREAT, and I think that color will be quite eye-catching

My family of P/J's
The pewter satin is a new addition as of this week.
It was purchased from a great TB'er.
All are loaded with CTS pots, orange drop caps and a strange mix of Duncans I've come to love.
The P pickups are Quarter Pounders (SPB3) but the J pickups are not quite as hot (SJB-2).

This is my first time posting so I thought I'd show off the Music Man Stingray I just purchased.
There's a Fender super deluxe P/J bass to the left and a Fender Dimension to the right.

Just signed up to the forum & this is my first post.
I've played guitar for years but I'm new to bass so bought myself just a cheap thing to get started.
It's a Deacon. Never heard of them before but it was reduced by £50 to £85 as it had apparently got knocked when another guitar fell off it's hanger in the shop.
The dents in the finish are so hard to spot, unless you get the light just right, you'll miss them. But it plays fine, wasn't expensive and will do me fine.
Then there's the beasty. Bass on a budget.
I bought the body on ebay for, I think, £12 several years ago with the intention of building it up. Finally found a neck I liked the look of at a nice cheap price last week. Only took a few years. Fitted the neck & bridge yesterday evening.
The body must a be a Warlock copy, I can't believe it's the real thing, the arc at the bottom doesn't look right. The neck is from a Stagg bass. Nothing flash but more than enough for my needs. It must have taken quite a knock in the post as the fretboard overhang on the E side has a chunk smahed out of it & the fret snagged the bubble wrap & pulled out when I unwrapped it. I'm going to leave it as is though. The chances of using the 24th fret are close to zero & another war wound kinda fits with the dings & chips of the body.
I bought a set of cheap PJ pickups and I think I'm going to go for volume, blend, tone. Getting my dad to do the wiring for me could take a while so I might just put some strings on in the meantime to see how it feels.
They're not much but that's ok, I don't need much , not yet, if ever.
